Royal News By Mrs. R. J. liering Royal High Dedicates Auditorium The new school auditorium at Royal was used for the first time Friday evening. The school band which consists of 23 members, presented a midwinter concert. This was a very gratifying oc casion for the Royal community, and the proudest moment since the dedication of the new school building in 1912, both occasions indicating a definite step in pro gress. After the concert the band mo thers served pie, coffee, and ice cream in the improvised cafeteria which will be finished later. Among the women who were members of the committee selling food were Mines. Herman Ennen, Lincoln Henry, Roy Frahm, Char les Meyer, Dale Weber, Mrs. E.A. Rundquist rind Mrs. Walter Beut ler. Herman Bahn, who lived here during World War II on the farm now owned by Clayton Meisner, sends Christmas greetings from 41 Canterbury St., Worcester, Mass. Hold Christmas Party The Royal WSCS held the an nual Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Bus Charf with 26 per sons present. A program consis ting ol carols, poems and scrip ture reading occupied the after noon Fourteen dollars was donat ed by members instead of an ex change of gifts, the money to be divided betweia two charitable missions. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Kenneth Eyer. Vis itors at the party were Mrs. Per ry Lichty, Mrs. Rudy Meisner, Mrs. C. D. Curtis and Mrs. C F. Storm. Mrs. E. A. Rundquist entertain ed six girls Saturday, Dec. 16 in honor of Sandra’s 12th birthday. Guests included Vanita Thomsen, Barbara Holm, Cecilia Walmer, Kathryn Weber, Anita Weber, Connie Beutler. The Royal school was dismissed December 23 and will resume on January 2. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beutler and children were Christmas din ner guests of Mrs. Beutler’s par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Kir by. Both families were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Held of Orchard. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anson on Christmas were Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Anson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Vogel and daughter and Mr. and Mrsv Russell Burch. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Walmer at a pre-Christmas din ner Friday were their son, Wayne, and family and their daughter and son-in-law, and Mrs. Curt Schleusener and family of Orchard. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pick and Lee of Denver, Colo., visited his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W J. Reefe after a holiday dinner with Mrs. Pick’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alois Mlnarik of At kinson. Mr. and Mrs. Jakie Cole were also guests of Mlnariks and then came to Royal to the Rus sell Burch home before returning to their home in Plattsmouth. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clar ence Thomsen were Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Rundquist, Theodore Thom sen, Larry and Mylon Filkins, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Larsem of Mitchell, S. D., and Barbara Ann Morrison. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Weber’s guests included Mrs. C. F. Storm, Mr. and Mrs. Eloit Blackmore and Kim, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Klabenes, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Klabenes and baby of Chambers, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Storm and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Loewe. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jensen and Marlowe and Mr. and Mrs. Archie Brandt and children were with Mrs. Lottie Wauer of Tilden at a family gathering. Mrs. Glenn Rundquist and No lan went to Grand Island Christ mas morning to spend several days with Glenn, who is recupe rating from a heart ailment at the Veteran’s hospital. Mrs. Truman Kirby will be hostess to the BTC club at a New Year’s Watch Party to which members and their families are invited. This is an annual affair with the club. Mary Hering came from Nor folk Saturday to remain until Friday at home while her em ployer is visiting relatives in Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Myrl Filkins are vacationing in California, having made the trip by plane. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Hering and Mrs. R. L. Hering received tele phone greetings Christmas day from Mr. and Mrs. John Kitz miller and Kathy in Hollywood, Calif., and from Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mewissen and family in Mt. Clemens. Mich. Mr. and Mrs. John Kitzmiller (Jeri Southern) are booked for a concert with blind pianist, George Shearing, in San Francisco, Calif., in February. Page News Bv Mrs. Ben Asher Mmes. Dale Lewis, William Ragland, Carl Max, Robert Lin der, Calvin Harvey, Connie Riege and Donna Crumly were guests as were members of the Golden Rule Extension club which met with Mrs. R. V. Crumly for a noon day covered dish dinner. Christmas carols were sung fol lowed by a gift exchange. A handkerchief shower was held for Mrs. Roy Hansen who is moving to Omaha. Mrs. Hansen also won the door prize. Mrs. Lorenz Riege will be the January hostess.
