Dealers from numerous towns in north Social Security Change To Cover More Persons People working for their child ren may lie covered by social security after this year according to Clifford Kittelson, manager of the Norfolk social security office. The ISBO amendments to the social security law change this beginning next year. In the future, people who work for their children In their child ren’s business will be covered by social security. The work must lie in connection with the Operation of the business. This Include* work on farms If the worker’s child operates the farm. Work in and around the home of children is still not covered. That is, a person who is hired by his children to baLy sit, keep house, do yard work, or other household work will still not be able to earn credit for social security payments. This is so even if the child happens to also operate a business or a farm. Attends Convention William Putnam of O'Neill, who attends Wayne State Teachers college, was one of the delegates representing the college at the annual Nebraska Regional New man club convention held Fri day at the University of Oma ha. The convention opened with an 8:15 a.m. mass followed by a breakfast at the University cen ter. Archbishop G. T. Bergan was the main speaker. Lowell Nesbitt, employee at the Kansas-N ebraska Gas Company has been transferred to St Paul where he will be manager of the St. Paul concern and the family moved to their new home Tues day. Mr. and Mrs. George Rector of Marysville, Wash., arrived Saturday for a visit in the homes of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Schaffer and their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Grutsch and with other relatives in this vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Rector spent a week in Phoenix, Ariz., before coming to Nebraska and the first snow they saw enroute was when they crossed the Wtaeel er-Holt county line. The tangerine and grapefruit harvest was beginning in Phoenix and the orange crop was about ready for shipping. Members of the ASC office and their wives (or husbands) held their annual Christmas party at the Town House Monday evening, commencing with a dinner and followed by a short business ses sion when plans pertaining to of ficial business were discussed. Robert Linder of Page. Rev. Robert L. Embree, district superintendent and Rev. Charles Gates of Atkinson went to Cozad for a Tuesday and Wednesday conference planning session for Youth. Rev. Robert L. Embree will go to Wausa on Thursday for the day and will conduct Sunday services at Belden and Laurel. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Parker and their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parker of Seattle, Wash., were Friday after noon and evening guests in the home of another son and daugh ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harlao Parker and family at Butte. The men hunted. Mrs. Emma Martin and Eleta Rae Messner entertained at a late Thanksgiving dinner last Sunday at the Clayton Messner home. Guests were Steve Hicks of O'Neill and Mr. and Mrs. Soren Sorensen sr., of Page. Mr. and Mrs. Arden Anderson and family of Butte were Satur day guests in the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr and Mrs. Bernard Schmitz. Mrs. Schmitz and infant son returned home on Friday from St. Anthony’s hospital. Mr and Mrs. Frank Parker of Seattle, Wash., left Sunday for Crawford where they were storm staid guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Borders until Tuesday when the highway was opened for travel after the Sun day storm. The Parkers have spent a two week vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Parker in O’Neill. Mr. Parker is general manager or a ierry une and eating houses in that area and in Canada. Pfc. James Brewster who has had a 30 day emergency leave to attend his sister, Norma Brew ster's funeral services and visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Brewster of Deloit termi nated his leave last Sunday and left from Omaha by plane for a New Jersey AFB. From there he returned to Germany by jet plane. When he traveled from Frankfort, Germany AFB half of the passengers were on emer gency leave and were prevented from leaving on schedule because of engine trouble that kept them grounded. Wayne Reynoldson began work last week at the Kansas-Nebras ka. Gas. Cb. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Tomjack, Miss Florence Ponton and Mrs. Mary Pruss were Friday and Sat urday visitors In Omaha. Celebrate** Birthday Jerry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Humrich. was guest of honor at a party Monday following school. Jerry was celebrating his sixth birthday and a group of friends helped him enjoy a birthday cake and treats. Merle Jones has started em ployment with the line crew at Consumers Public Power com pany. Move** to Arizona Mrs. Frank Dishner, a long time resident and former teacher of O'Neill, left Sunday for Sun City, Ariz., where she will make her home. She was accompanied on the drive to Arizona by Mrs. John Robinson of Hampton, la. Attend Company Party Mr. and Mrs. D. D. DeBolt went to Omaha last Thursday, where they were guests of the Prudential Insurance company at a Christmas party held in the Town House. The DeBolts also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ned Allendorfer while In Omaha, re turning to their home in O'Neill Sunday. Legion Auxiliary Meets A Christmas party and gift ex change were held Wednesday eve ning tor members and children of the American Legion Auxiliary. A Christmas program was pre sented by members of the Junior Auxiliary. Hostesses were Mmes. Richard Minton, Glen Miller. Leigh Rgjraldson. John Stuifber Sen, Clifford Harding, Dean treeter, John Harrington, Verne Reynoldson and Ed Schmidt. Mr. and Mrs. John Shoemaker jr., of Omaha arrived at his par ents’ home in O’Neill Sunday, coming here for funeral services held Monday for Albert Shoe maker. Initiation of new members will be January 12 at the band room. Mrs. Lois L. Tompkins is sponsor of the Troupe. Mrs. H. J. Birmingham return ed to her home Tuesday from Chicago, where she has been since Thanksgiving visiting her daughters, Lou and Barbara. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cole left Thursday for South Dakota, where they attended sales at Pierre, Chamberlain and Wes* tngton Springs. They returned home Friday night.
