Merlyn Meyer home. Jerry Dem
psey, Sand Hill district repre
sentative from O'Neill, was in
charge. After some discussion, it
was decided to have an organi
zation meeting early in January.
Present, with children, were Mrs
Richard Shain, Mrs. Jerey Roth
erham, Mrs. James Boies, Mrs
Darlene Bowling. Mrs. Clifford
Hahlbeek, Mrs Sam Regan and
Mrs. Dean Pofahl.
Mr. and Mrs. Merlyn Meyer
and family were Sunday evening
guests at the home of Mr and
Mrs. Don Gabelman at Neligh.
Other guests at the Gabelman
home were Mr and Mr* Richard
Anderson of Aurora
Mr and Mrs. Grover Shaw and
family moved to Ainsworth Satur
day, where they will make their
future home, Mr Shaw will op
erate a milk route. Mr Shaw has
had a milk route in Ewing for
several months which was taken
over by Jack Kropp.
Mr and Mr* Leonard Knapp
attended the wedding of Ed Pier
son and Miss Betty Fetrow, held
Sunday tn O'Neill. The bride
groom is a nephew of Mr. Knapp.
Party Well Attended
A good crowd was in attendance
at the card party Sunday even
ing held at St. Dominic's hall,
sp nsored by the St. Rose circle
of the Christian mothers Win
ners in pitch were Dwight Schroe
der, Mrs. Eva Kaczor. Martin
VanConet and Mrs. Louis Van
dersnick. In pinochle, the winners
were Paul Funk, Mrs Gail Botes,
Melvin Roach and Mrs. Leonard
Knapp The door prize was won
by Victor Funk. Refreshments
were served.
Mr and Mrs Richard Edwards
and family of Bassett were after
noon and dinner guests at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Ham
ilton Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Pollock took
his mother, Mrs. Fern Pollock,
to Omaha Monday. From there
she left for California, where she
will spend the winter months with
relatives.

dinner guests at the home of his
mother, Mrs. Laura Spittler.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Butler re
turned home Friday from Fort
Benning, Ga. where they had
spent the past two weeks visiting
at the home of their son-in-law
and daughter, Lt. Col. and Mrs.
E. D. McDonald and family.

vember 27 at Valentine visiting
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Spittler and family. On
their return home they found
driving hazardous due to the rain

David Shrader, who came home
November 28 from St. Anthony's
hospital at O’Neill, was able to re
turn to school Monday. He is con
valescing from an appendectomy.

Mrs. Grover Shaw and son,
Michael, were honored guests at
a baby shower at the home of
Mrs. Jerry Tomjack Friday eve
ning. Twelve ladies were in at
tendance. Cards were played for
entertainment. Mrs. Ralph Munn,
Mrs. Mamie Boies and Mrs.
James Boies received prizes.

and family, accompanied by Mr.
and Mrs. Don Mackel and son
of Elgin, spent Sunday at Gre
gory, S. D., visiting with relatives.
Ann Regan celebrated her
second birthday Monday. In
honor of the oocasipn her grand
mother, Mrs. Laura Splttler, en
tertained at a family gathering
