Dr. William Kubitchek of Den
ver arrived Friday for a visit
with his parents. Dr. and Mrs.
F. J, Kubitchek. He was accom
pained here by Harry Reardon,
a farmer O’Neill resident .

lyn Gray were Monday visitors

Froelich was released on Wed
nesday from St. Anthony’s hos
pital where she was treated for
a mastoid infection.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank McKenny
went to Sioux City Sunday where
he continued by plane to Minne
apolis where he attended a Gam
ble’s buyer’s convention.
Mr. and Mrs. Preston Jones and
son. Merle, were weekend guests
in the home of their son and bro
ther, Maurice Jones and family.
Merle has just recently been
separated from the army.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jones and
daughters were guests in the
home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. R. W. Whitcomb at Ra
venna over the weekend.
Carroll, 11 year old son of Mr.
and Mrs. Grant Peacock, return
ed Friday from the Orthopedic
hospital in Lincoln following a two
month stay when he had surgery
on each hand necessitated by
burns he received when a small
child just learning to walk. He

his studies.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald McLeish
were Saturday guests in the home
of his brother. Joe McLeish and
family and attended he wedding

McLeishes were enroute to Lin
coln from a honeymoon trip in
the Ozarks.
Mrs. Jennie Chmiel returned
last week from visiting her daugh
ter, Mrs. Felicia Horn and hus
band in Grand Island. She ac
companied her grandson Eugene
Horn and wife from North Platte
to Julesburg, Colo, where she vis
ited with another daughter, Mrs.
Hattie Feighny and family. The
Horns continued on their way to
California for a two week vac a
tion.
Mrs. Ira Hopkins went to Pal
mer Thursday where she visited
her son-in-law and daughter, Mr
and Mrs. Charles Wood. Her
grEndson, Richard Wood brought
her home Sunday.

the purpose of assembling the

Sunday’’, which has been in the
process of being written since
Cal severed his connection with
the Frontier and the newspaper
business.
Cal made a trip to Europe this
summer to verify facts necessary
to establish the historic back
ground.
When the collaborators have
rechecked their material it will
be ready for presentation in bock
form to the Dublish°rs.

Library has New Books
The Library Board met at the
home of Mrs. Walter Kaup on
Wednesday, Oct. 26. The book
committee reported on the pur
chase of new books. It was sug-,.
gested that anyone desiring a cer
tain book from the library should
contact Mrs. “Doc” Newman or
Mrs. Walter Kaup. A lunch was
served by the hostess.

Dr. Everett Jackman of Oma
ha will hold Bible lectures at the
O’Neill Methodist church,
November 27, 28 and 29 from
7:30 p.m. until 9:30.
Dr. Everett Jackman is a well
known figure in Nebraska
Methodism. He has served as
pastor of a number of Nebraska
churches, North Platte and Nor
folk being among these. His pre
sent appointment is as District
Superintendent of the Omaha
district. A number of years ago
he served this area as District
Superintendent. Along with his
other duties he is Conference
Historian and has written a
historical record of the Metho
dist Church in Nebraska, “The
Nebraska Methodist Story.”
Each evening will feature two
lectures with a brief intermission
between and a coffee hour at
the close.
