Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tingle of
Atkinson returned to their home
Sunday night, after spending the
week in Omaha where Mrs. Tin
gle underwent surgery in the
Methodist Hospital Mr and Mrs
Anton Moore of Nelieto, her par
ents, stayed at the Tingle home
and helped at the store during
their absence

Thirteen boys were present at
the first den meeting of the Cub
Scouts, which was held at the
home of Mrs. Fred Roberts, den
mother, Friday afternoon. Those
enrolled are Jack Ramsay, Roger
Christansen, Max Mills, Dan
Hawthorne, Frank Kuehn, Rickie
Davis, Nick Svoboda, Michael
Shippen, Mike Bennett, Brian
Gilg, Soott Witter, Alan Krumm
and Greg Pospichal.
Mothers present were Mrs
Emil Kuehn, assistant Den mo
ther; Mrs George Witter, Mrs
Roy Gilg and Mrs. Bonnie Pos
pichal.
The Scouting program was re
cently re-organized under the
sponsorship of the Atkinson Vol
unteer Fire Department. Fred
Roberts was chosen Cubrnaster
and Don Gokie will foe Scout
master. Members of the Scout
committee are Roger Hawthorne
Don Mills and George Witter.
The next Den meeting of the
CUbs will be Friday afternoon at
Mrs. Roberts' home nnd all boys
interested in becoming Cub
Scouts are invited to attend
They will foe divided into two or
three dens and other den mo
thers will be chosen. The boys
must be between the ages of 8
and 11.
HOMECOMING PLANNED
Tomorrow night, (Friday) At
kinson meets Springview for the
last home game of the season.
It will also be Atkinson's Home
coming and the I960 King and
Queen will foe revealed at the
Homecoming ceremony during
half time. Candidates selected are
Roma Fundus, Mary Alice Hill
and Sandra Frisch for queen, and
Dale Bogue, Rodney Dobias
and Ken Butterfield for king Fol
lowing the game there will be
a semi-formal dance in the gyn
at the elementary school for the
students of both schools, alumni
and guests of Atkinson students
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Heuton,
Danny and Michael of Sonora
Calif, came Friday night for a
visit at the home of his mother,
Mrs. H. J. Heuton and Ibrother
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank En
body and family and other rel
atives Russell owns and oper
ates the Heuton Mortuary in So
nora.
After leaving Atkinson they will
go to Concordia, Kansas to visit
Mrs. Heutons parents, Mr. and
Mrs. 0. B. McGeogh, and will at
tend a National Undertakers con
vention in Denver on October 11
and 12 before returning to their
home.

Los Angeles, Calif visited from
Wednesday to Sunday last week
at the home of her brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Bausch Mr. and Mrs Roy Nil
son and Lonnie of Newport, Mr
and Mrs Stanley Johnson and
Mr and Mrs. Leo Schniedrr of
Atkinson also visited with the
Eckert's at the Bausch home
Mrs. Eckert is the former Clara
Bausch and Mrs Nilson is her
sister.

went to Creighton last Sunday to
attend a birthday party for Ron
nie Raff, son of Mr. and Mrs
Melvin Raff, Ronnie, who was 13
years old, entered the Orthopedic
hospital in Lincoln the next day
where he was to undergo spine
surgery this week He suffered an
attach of polio about six years
ago.

Hahlbeck. Topic for discussion
were ‘‘Bleaches, Kinds and Uses
of Each”, the “How-to-Do's” for
stain removal and detergents.
Mrs. Ziems presented copies of
twelve gold ribbon winning re
cipes. Mrs. Pruden, president
was in charge of the business
meeting. She gave a report on
the 9tate Home Extension club
meeting which she attended at
McCook. Mrs. Harry Van Horn
read an article on the State 4-H
Camp at Halsey.
Achievement Day to be held in
O’Neill, October 25 with a cov
ered dish dinner was discussed,
the theme will be "Good Citizen
ship Around the World”.
