The county meeting of the
American Legion and Legion
Auxiliary which met at the Le
gion Hall in Chiumbers Monday
evening was well attended. Re
presented were Stuart, Atkinson,

Larry Swanson, who represented
Boy's State at Lincoln in June
gave a very fine report of his
trip and activities. Stanley and
Tom Lambert sang two duets.
County commander, Mike Coday
of Atkinson was in charge of the
business session. A film was

lunch was served and a social
hour enjoyed.

The First Methodist church of
O'Neill was the setting for the
wedding of Miss Joan Booth of
Rapid City, S. D. and Charles
Fred Carpenter of Rapid City on
Saturday, Sept. 24. Hie Rev.
Glenn Kennicott officiated at the
2 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Irene Booth of O’Neill and
the bridegroom’s parents are Mr
and Mrs. Fred L. Carpenter of
Buffalo, N.Y.
Duane Booth, brother of the
bride, sang, "fiecause” and "The
Lord’s Prayer.” accompanied by
Mrs. Reed Herley at the organ.
Hie altar was decorated with can
delabra on either side of a large
bouquet of white gladioli.
The hride was given in mar
riage by her uncle, Harley Booth .
She appeared in a floor length
gown of white lace and tulle
over taffeta. Hie ’fitted bodice
featured a scalloped sabrina neck
line accented with sequins and
seed pearls and bridal sleeves.
The bouffant skirt, worn over
hoops, was styled of tuMe accent
ed with appliques of lace and laqe
panels down the sides. Her el
bow length veil of imparted
French illysion was Md in place

quins. The bridal bouquet was
held in place by a crown of pearls
