Tririfty Homemakers
Thrifty Homemakers met at
the home of Mrs. Charles Hav
ranek with thirteen members and
one visitor present. Mrs. Bernard
Kaczor conducted the business
meeting and gave a report on the
council meeting. Fair Ixxith plans
were completed and Mrs. Frank
Krupicka gave a reading on Child
Training.
A family party is planned for
October 9 at the community hall.
The next meeting will be at the
home of Mrs. Marvin Havranek
Thursday evening, Sept. 15. Each
member is to bring a family re
port of pclio shots.
Riverview 4-H
The Riverview 4-H meeting
was held at the Spencer com
munity hall August 22 at 8 p.m.
It was called to order by presi
dent Don Dricky. The secretary
and treasurer reports were read
and approved. A vote was taken
and passed to give $5 for a
memorial for Cheryl Richter. The
next meeting will be September
12.
Mrs. Earl Allyn celebrated her
seventy-ninth birthday, Sunday
with a family dinner at her
home.
Mrs. Edward Kirkpatrick en
tertained twenty-seven friends
honoring the eighth birthday of
their son. Russell on Tuesday af
ternoon at the Kirkpatrick home.
The afternoon was spent in play
ing outdoor game's and Mrs. Kirk
patrick served lunch.

I'he Inman Community Club
met Monday evening in the scho
ol assembly room for their first
meeting of the fall season. Har
vey Tompkins, newly elected pres
ident was in charge of the meet
ing. Other officers of the coming
year are Mrs. James McMahan,
vice president, Mrs. Walter Fick,
secretary and Mrs. Bill Butter
field, treasurer.
Plans were made for the clubs
parts in the Fall Festival to be
held the 24th of September. Mrs.
Sid Stolier of San Diego, Calif,
gave a very interesting talk on
Missiles entitled “Bicycle Wheels
for Defense”.

and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Sobot
ka had charge of the entertain
ment. Lunch was served with
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Watson and
Mr. and Mrs. Ira Watson on the

Inman the middle of last week and

Mrs. Helena Lindcmann, 77, the
mother of Mrs Hetiry Kloppen
b >rg, a longtime resident of
Emmet died Sunday, July 17 at
the h nr of her daughter, Mrs.
A'dena Ernrieh. She had been
bed-ridden for five years.
