Mrs. Sedivy stak'd the correlation between the Methodist church and Society. Mrs. Willis Rockey, president, conducted the business session. The new date books for the year were given each member, follow ed by a discussion on the eve nts of the year. November 2, I960 and April 26, 1961 were set as the dates for the two officers meetings. Mrs. Richard McConnell of Am elia sang, "Wedding Prayer”, "I'll Walk With God” and "The Lord’s Prayer.” Miss Leota Kyes of Big Springs was the organist. The sanctuary was decorated with baskets of gold and bronze chyr santhemums, greenery and cand elabra. The bride, escorted to the al tar by her father, fashioned her wedding gown of dekistered satin with a textured weave. The smoothly sculptured bodice was designed with a scoop neckline and elbow length sleeves edged with vtnice lace and iridescent se quins. The modified princess line front panel featured a continua tion of the Venice lace and the bouffant redingote overskirt was completed with an aisle wide cathedral train. Her fingertip veil of French illusion was caught in a double crown of pearls and se quins. Her only jewelry was a drop pearl, a gift of the bride groom. She carried a bridal bou quet of Fiji chrysanthemums and stephanotis. Miss Doris Ward of Long Beach, Calif. was the maid of honor. Miss Carol Jean Pelican of Pal mer and Mrs Richard H Peter son of Omaha were bridesmaids. They wore beige cotton lace street length dresses featur ing scoop necklines and short sleeves. The overskirts of gold crystallette were styled in the same redingote line as the bride’s. They carried crescent bouquets of bronze Fiji chrysanthemums Their headpieces were of gold nylon net and fashioned with a large gold crystallette bow. After some discussion, the mem bers agreed to join the clubs of the Ewing Center to operate a stand on September 17—Free Wa ter Melon Day in Ewing. Plans would be completed at the Sep temoer meeting, the first Thurs day of the month. A no-host picnic lunch was ser ved. Water Passes Cheek The State Department of Health has tested and reported favorably on the Ewing municipal water supply. Samples were taken earlier this month and tested by the Health Department in the Lincoln la boi atones. The report showed that the water met all state stand ards. This test was a routine check. Attends Reunion Mr. und Mrs. Ralph Eacker attended the I960 alunmi reunion at Cedar Rapids on Sunday. The 600 in attendance included the graduates from the Cedar Rapids high school from 1890 to I960 and from the St. Anthony's Catholic school from 1918 to 1933. Gov. Ralph G. Brooks was the guest speaker on the afternoon program. The affair was conclud ed with a 5:30 dinner and a dance at the City Park. Mrs. Eacker was a member of the 1911 grad uating class from the Cedar Rap ids high school. Miss Vina Wood, accompanied by her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wood, of Lingle, Wyo., is now back home after spending a few days in Lincoln with rel atives. Eddie Rockey celebrated his sixth birthday Thursday. In hon or of the occasion, he had as his guests five classmates. Plans were made to try to get some new members. The ladies plan to do some painting inside their build ing. Sugar and Spice 4-11 club held their annual picnic at the Fort! park in O’Neill Tuesday evening. A picnic supper was served fol lowing a swimming party. A discussion was held on the style review and plans were made for the Holt county Fair at Chambers August 15-18. A number of the mothers at tended the picnic.
