O'Neill Couple Marry Saturday At St. Patrick's St. Patrick’s Catholic church in O’Neill was the scene Saturday, July lft, for the wedding of Miss Irina Juracek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jiuracek of O’ Neill and Gayle Boyle, son of Jaimes P. Boyle of O’Neill. Rev. Robert Duffy officiated ait the 10 a.m. double ring ceremony be fore an altar decorated with bou quets of pink gladioli and carna tions. Miss Alice Schaffer and Miss Jackie Arbuthnot sang, "0 Sanc tissima” and “On This Day” ac companied by Mrs. John McCar ville at the organ. The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, appeared in a white gown of hand clipped rose point lace and mist tulle over taffeta. The slim sculptured bo dice was styled with a scalloped neckline embellished with seed pearls and iridescents and brief sleeves. The bouffant floor length skirt wias accented by narrow bands of scalloped lace flowing down the skirt. Jewel encrusted appli ques of lace were scattered over the skirt which extended into a Chapel train. The veil was fingertip length of imported silk Illusion caught to -a tiny oap of lace edged in pleated illusion and pearl and se quin embroidery. She carried a cascade arrangement of white and pink carnations centered with pink rosebuds. Mrs. Dean Anderson of Lincoln, sister of the bride, was the ma tron of honor. She wore a gown of lavender dotted nylon over taf feta and carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Edgar Boyle, brother of the bridegroom, was the best man. Lyle Juracek, brother of the bride, was the Usher. The mother of the bride chose a pink lace sheath dress with a white carnation corsage. Following the ceremony a noon luncheon was held at the Town House. The bride attended O’Neill High school and the bridegroom attended St. Mary’s Academy. After a short wedding trip the couple plan to make their home in O’Neill. Club Notes Welcome Planned For Mother Antonella Members of St. Catherine Guild will extend a welcome to Mother Antonella at the regular meeting of the St. Patrick’s Altar so ciety July 28. Mother Antonella will replace Mother .Agnesine as principal of St. Mary’s Academy. Mother Agnesine is attending St. Louis university. She will go in late August to Scottsbtuff to as sume her duties as principal of the St. Agnes grade school. A style show will also be fea tured. Mrs. Yantzi Winner Mrs. Fritz Yantzi was the win ner of the ladies golf breakfast tourney Wednesday morning at the O’Neill Country club. The com mittee for the breakfast inclod ed Mrs Fred Appleby and Mrs. Bill Kelly. Merry Mix Club Meets Mrs. John Conard entertained the Merri Mix bridge club at a 1:30 pm. luncheon Tuesday at her home at Emmet. Mrs. Carstens Honored Mrs. George Carstens was hon ored at a baby shower and cof fee Thursday morning at the home of Mrs. John Watson. Eastern Star Chapters Plan Fall Meeting The Symphony Chapter No 316 of the Eastern Star entertained chapters from Orchard, At kinson, Stuart and Bassett at their regular meeting Thursday. Plans were made for entertain ing the grand officers in Septem ber at O’Neill. Following the meeting Mrs. Tom Lambert gave a chalk talk on “The Little Brown Church’’ and Mrs. Merwyn French jr. sang a solo. Refreshments were served by a committee including Mrs. George Robertson, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pappenheimer, Mrs. Howard Man son and Mrs. J. D. Osenbaugh. Geraldine Sullivan To Wed In January Mr. and Mrs. James M. Sulli van of Wichita, Kan., announce the engagement of their daughter, Geraldine, to Dr. Robert W. Wal lace, son of Mrs. M. J. Wallace of O'Neill and the late Mr. Wal lace. Miss Sullivan is a graduate of Mount St. Scholastica ooliege, At chison, Kan., and attended Se attle University, Seattle, Wash. Jeannie Schnabel Honored Thursday CLEARWATER—Miss Jeanose Schnabel was guest of honor at a pre nuptial shower Thursday. Guests each brought their favor ite recipe for the bride-elect. His tesses were Mrs. John Schultz, Mrs Walter Schnabel and Mrs. Arthur Melcher Miss Schnabel will be married July 34 to Ar nold Otsenberg of Plainview. Conard Reunion Held At Neligh The Conard reunion was held at the Neligh park. July 17 with twenty-seven present. The oldest person present was Ray Conard and James Davis Cooper was the youngest. One death and two births have been recorded in the past year. Lodge Presented New Flag Friday The Eden Rebekah lodge met Friday evening at the lodge hall. A new fifty-star flag was pre sented in a ceremony to the lodge. Refreshments were served fol lowing the meeting by Mrs. Louis Wray and Mrs. Melvin Klingler. Parks Will Speak At Methodist Meeting The regular meeting of the Wo man's Society of Christian Ser vice was held Thursday after noon at the First Methodist church with twenty members and three guests present. Rev. and Mrs. Dawson Park will speak at the joint meeting of the WSCS and Wesleyan Service Guild on October 17 at the church. A rummage sale is scheduled for August 11. The executive com mittee will meet August 8. A program on “Leisure” was given by Mrs. Louis Reimer. The devotions were conducted by Mrs. Roy Wayman. A dessert luncheon was served by Mmes. Edith Young. Maude Rouse and Ben Wayman. Annual McKim Reunion Held The fifteenth annual McKim re union was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Art Englehaupt and daughter, Sandra, of Gering on July 3. Those attending from the O’ Neill area include Mr. and Mrs. Lyle McKim and Kenneth, Mr. and Mrs. Orville McKim and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Gone O'Neill, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Loewe, Garry Storm and Dianne Anson. The next reunion is tenatively scheduled to be held at Estes Park. Colo. An October wedding is plan ned. O'Neill Locals Mrs. Dorald May and four chil dren of Phoenix, Ariz., left Mon day from Omaha after a three week visit with her mother, Mas. Esther Harris Mrs. Harris took them to Omaha to entrain for the trip home. They came by plane. Linda Haynes, a student nurse at Lincom General hospital, and Carole Johnson accompanied Mrs. Guidon Fox home lor the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Haynes and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Matt Beha and family attended a picnic at Bas sett b.inday which was sponsored by radio amateurs in the Bassett, Ainsworth and Newport areas. Mrs. Ben Sanders of the An ne ar route, O'Neill has been con tracted to teach m the Star and Cedar Corners districts. Half of the school year will be in ses sion at the Star school house and the other half the 16 pupils wtU meet for classes at the Cedar Corners school. All grades except the kindergarten will be repre sented. The Shamrock 4-H sewing club met Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Claude Cole. All members were present. The girls cut out and commenced work on their blouses, 'Hie next meeting will be held Thursday at the home of Mrs. William Hansen. Her daughter, Valjean is with her as she is not hospitalized. . .Harry Snyder, former Page and Norfolk resi dent, is in Lincoln for treatment for a throat ailment, His wife, Nell is with her sons, Dale and Dean, and their families at At kinson during his absence. . .Linda Smith, Page is in her third week of hospitalization in St. Anthony hospital following surgery for the removal of her appendix. Unex pected developments have kept her there under observation. . .Miss Minnie Farnsworth of Omaha, sis ter of E. H. Farnsworth suffered a stroke some weeks ago and has been transferred to a Rest home in Omaha. Midgets Win 3 of 5; Lose In Tournament O’Neill Midget baseballers won 3 of their last 5 games played ov er the week. The wins came against Plainview, Stuart and Ne ligh. Loses included Ord and. Pierce. On July 13 the Midgets travel ed to Plainview for a tight game that went 8 innings and saw the O’Neill team win, 12-9. O’Neill had 17 hits and committed 1 er ror. Belina was the winning pitch er and also collected 3 hits in 5 trips to the plate. Hill led the batting with 4 for 5. Knepper, Tomjack, and Keith Reynoldson all had 2 for 4 and Hammond got 2 for 3. Keith Reynoldson got the win July 15 at Stuart against their Junior Legion team, 12-10. O’Neill smashed out 8 hits but committed 3 errors. Jim Schmaderer was the loser. Brewster hit 2 for 5, Hammond hit 2 4* 3 mid Kncpper smashed a tnpplt* for” tftr winners. On July 16 Hurley garnered a 7-4 win over Neligh on 6 hits and 1 eriiir Hurley gave up 5 hits Brewster and Hammond again Uni the hitters with 2 tor 3 aikl 2 tor 2 respectively. In their try for the area B tour nament to be held in O Neill July 27. the O'Neill Midgets wen* stop ped at Wauaa Monday night UH> by Pierce. O'Neill managed only 2 hits, both by Hill. Key noli Ison was the losing pitcher. The area tournament winners wiU play at 2 p.m. and the Jun ior Legion team winners will play at 4 p.m. on July 24. The winners of the 24th game will play the winners of the Wausa-Bloomfield tournament at 6 and 8 15 p.m. July 27 here. The winners of the O’Neill tour nament will go to Grant for the Class B championship. Archie Bright is the tournament director here and the umpires will be Dick Tomlinson, William Cousins.
