A Poem
From Mrs. Eby ...
TO DAD
Never had much style about him,
never cared for dress;
Sorta' sp *nt his Ufe a sewing seeds
of happiness;
Doing little things for others, help
ing where he could;
' Never making much pretention, al
ways ck>mg good.
; Home for him. was all for living,
filled his heart with pride,
I Ami his doors were ever open,
latch string hung outside,
i Folks who came were always wel
come, loved to have them round.
Wanted much of joy and laughter,
seemed to love the sound.
Had his cares and had his trou
bles, same as aU of us
Figured them a part of living; nev
er made much fuss;
Made the best of all God gave
him. as through life he went
Ever toiling, giving, taking, kind
and provident.
Vain, the tribute we would pay
him, words cannot express.
What it meant to have him with us j
and our thankfullness;
Sweet, the memory he has left us,
thoagh our hearts are sad.
Great the blessing that was given,
just to call him DAD.
