Sharon Kao Arp of Atkinson and Ronald Statics, Schuyler, were married in a January lti ceremony at St. Joseph's church in Atkin son. The couple will live In Schuy ler where the bridegroom is employed. Sharcn Arp Married In Atkinson Ceremony Miss Sharon Kao Arp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Arp, At- J kinson, and Donald Sladek, Schuy ler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lad Sladek, Atkinson, were united in ; marriage January lfi at St. Jo- i seph’s Catholic church in Atkinson. ■ Father Robert Morocco perform ed the double ring 9 a.m. cere mony. The St. Joseph's choir pro vided wedding music. Escorti'd to the altar by her fa ther, the bride appeared in a floor length White gown featuring a V neckline accented by a cummer bund with a bow at the waist in the hack. The scalloped skirt had an apron effect in hack revealing a ruffled net underskirt. She car ried a bouquet of carnations and sweetheart roses. Marion Deermer, Atkinson, was maid of honor, and Diann Mohr, Butte, was bridesmaid. They wore shrimp colored gowns with high necklines and fitted bodices. The skirts fell out from the torso and were fashioned with lacy scallops framing rows of nylon net ruffles. They carried carnation bouquets. Miss Carol Tunink, Butte, was t lower girl for her cousin. Charles Sladek, Atkinson, served his brother as best man. Gary Arp was groomsman and ushers were l>on Pokorny and Denton Colfack. A reception for 150 guests was given at the Knight's of Columbus Hall. Marjorie Deermer was at the guest Ixtok and presiding at the gift table were Gwendolyn Sattler, Gregory, S. D., and Janice Craw ord, Lynch. Serving were Sharon and Catol Mitchell, Roma and Iris Fundus. The wedding cake was baked by Mrs. Charles Deermer and cut by Mrs. Shirley Peterson. The bride's parents gave a din ner for the couple in O'Neill with he immediate families as guests. The bride is a graduate of At kinson Public high school and the bridegroom attended St. Joseph's high school in Atkinson. The couple will reside in Schuyler where the bridegroom is employed. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kitts, were married Sunday evening at the First Methodist church here. The couple will live in O’Neill She is the former Beverly -lean IJiupiist, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels I.iii(|uist, and he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. I.loyd Rfttv. Beverly Linquist Weds Edward Ritts Sunday Rev. Glenn Kennicott performed the ceremony Sunday evening uniting in marriage Miss Beverly Jean Linquist, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels A. Linquist. and Edward Ritts. son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ritts. The wedding was at the First Methodist Church Claude Cole was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. H. L. Lindherg. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white nylon tulle and Chantilly lace over a drop skirt of net and Burmil satin. The molded bodice was accented by a lace Sabrina neckline form ing a v in back. The skirt featur ed a deep flounce and full length front panel of lace. She carried red roses on a white prayer look. Mrs. Jay McConnell was ma*ron of honor wearing a red taffeta dress with a three-tier lace over skirt. She carried a white muff ! adorned with red carnations and wore a white matching headpiece. Flower girl was Vicki Sue Lin- | quist and Robert Jay McConnell was ringbearer. Candlelighters i were Mema and Verna Butterfield. Robert Sanders was best man ! and Donald Linquist was usher. A reception for 50 guests in the church parlors followed the cere mony. Assisting were Mesdames Merl Sehleusener, Tom Ehlers. Paul Shelhamer, Soren Sorensen jr.. Kenneth Hill and Miss Jo Ann La ns worth. The hride is a graduate of O' Neill High school and attended Wayne State Teacher's College. She was employed at the First National Bank here. Ritts is also a graduate of O'Neill high school and has been in the U. S. Marines. The couple vt ill reside in O’ Neill where he is employed with . the Shelhamer Oil Co. Services Are Held for Clearwater Resident Funeral services for Clifford \V Hurlbert will he conducted Thurs day (today) at 2 p.m. at the Meth odist church in Clearwater with El der Charles Soderstein officiating Burial will be in Laurel Hill cem etery at Neligh. The body will lay in state at the Snider funeral home j in Clearwater. Cifford W. Hurlbert was born I September 29, 1892, on the farm where he died on Monday, Jan. j 18. He was married on October 6,, 1920, to Miss Georgie Marwood Six children were born to this un-1 km. I The program was installed byj Congress two years ago to provide j ( the kind of help that will stay on j ‘ the land aid that will reduce the ‘ hazards of drouth and erosion; of the soil caused by wind and! . water. Principal offering is a complete 1 soil and water conservation plan | or a ranch or farm unit based on I the careful studies of range and I soil condition and made to fit the needs of the unit and the operator. Cost-sharing of federal funds is set up to get the conservation job speeded up and done in no less than three years nor more than 10 years on any farm or ranch. C. R. i Bob) Hill, work unit con servationist for Holt, says: ‘‘The Great Plains conservation program enables the farmer or rancher to complete a soil anti water con servation plan on his unit in a j short period of time w)th the tech nical assistance by the trained men of the soil conservation ser vice and the cost-sharing of fed eral funds. Since the program was estab lished in Holt in early 1958, the following practices have been com pleted : Four livestock water dams and two erosion control dams, six livestock wells, 34 acres of land leveling for irrigation, one mile of waterway development, 22 acres of livestock sholterbelts, four miles of fencing, 544 acres of native | grass planting, and 170 acres of tame pasture planting. Rev. Charles J. Oborny offici ated at the requiem high mass. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Military services were held at grav eside with the Verdigre Amer ican Legion post in charge. Mr Kiment was a native of Ooatsville lie was reared at Pal las, S. D. He married Miss Marj orie Breosee, September 1, tiM6. The family moved to Verdigre six years ago where he operated a hardware store.
