Many trips wen* cancel led and guests who had arrived for the holiday weekend shorten ed their visit to hasten homeward before the highways became im passable. Traffic was practically at a standstill for several hours dur ing the storm which continued throughout the night with a wand whipping it into high drifts High ways were reported closed or snow packed and Icy. Mr. and Mrs. Art Ruroede and Mr. and Mrs. I ton Ruroede left Monday for Minneapolis, Minn., where they will attend the national turkey convention, this week. Mr. and Mrs. Don Ruroede were dinner and evening guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Neal near Clear water, Sunday. A mission study on Africa will lie held for all children in grades one to six who attend the First Methodist church school. There will be five sessions each, held on Tuesday afternoon, from 4:0U i to 5:00 o’clock. Mrs. Woodrow El liot and Mrs. Roy Sedivy will be in charge. Mr. and Mrs. Orval Davis of Valentine were guests for din ner on New Year's day at the home of their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Davis.
