O'Neill Locals Mr and Mrs. Charles Fox ex pect their son and daughter-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Gordon Fox of Lincoln to arrive Thursday. Mr and Mrs, Charles Fox plan to spend Christinas at the home of Mr. and Mrs Wayne Fox and family of Emmet. George Rralnard and Sandy. I Jean and Mike of Casper, Wyo , were weekend guests of Mr and Mrs. Charles Fox. Mr. Bralnard also visited his father, Floyd lirainarri, who is in St. Anthony’s hospital. Mary Elizabeth Gatz of St Mary’s in Omaha came Wednes day to spend tin* holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Gatz. Mr and Mrs Jack Gatz and daughter, Jackie of Omaha are expected to arrive today at the home of his parents, Mr and Mrs, C. J. Gatz. Mr. and Mrs. John Hart, sr., of Enid, Okla., are expected to come today to spend Christmas with Rev and Mrs. John Hart jr Mr and Mrs Gordon Hiatt and Douglas of Glenview, 111., arrived Saturday evening to spend the holidays at the home of Mr. and Mrs A. A. Hiatt. Mr and Mrs Don Calkins of Lincoln will spend Christmas with Mr and Mrs Bruce Johnson and Mrs Hazel Calkins Mr and Mrs C. D. Harmon of Seottsbluff were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. C, Johnson. Mr and Mrs. G. E. Jones ex pect Mr and Mrs Don Anderson and family of Vinton, la., and Mr. and Mrs C. Vincent Jones and family of Columtxis to come Thurs day to spend Christmas with them A party was given Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jones for little Jodelle, who celebrated her 5th birthday. Fourteen guests were present. Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Chris McGinn were Mr. and Mrs William White. Mr. and Mrs Bob White, Mr. and Mrs Larry Tib bets and baby, Ronnie Hasenp flug and Rudy Grew* of Valentine. Mr. and Mrs Roy Goree of Long Pine spent the weekend in O'Neill visiting relatives. A Christmas gift conference ! call was given by Beverly Jane McCarthy of Omaha Sunday for the six sisters and brothers, Mrs. George McCarthy, Mrs. Ralph Walker, Mrs. Ralph McElvam. and Mac Simmon son. all of O’Neill, Mrs. Guy Goghill of Casper, Wyo., and Mrs. Roy Goree of Long Pine. The six en joyed a real Christmas gab fest by way of long distant telephone all talking from their respective ! homes at the same time. Mr. and Mrs. John Shoemaker j sr., expect their son and daugh f ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Shoemaker jr , anil family of Oma ha to spend Christmas with them. Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Druehe had their son, Douglas in Children s Memorial hospital in Omaha re cently. Mrs. Gene Thompson visited relatives anil frWnds in Scottsbluff last week. Her son, Ronnie and daughters, Kay and Sherril stayed with Mrs. Maude Farbes until Saturday and then visited their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Thompson in Atkinson over the weekend. Mrs. Lloyd Waldo and family were O'Neill callers Friday. The children had dental appointments. Bruce was ill with a sinus infec tion and unable to attend school the later part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Leu Backhaus were O'Neill callers Thursday and stop ped to see Lewis's brother, Roy on the way home. Roy had just re turned home from the O'Neill hospital where he had undergone major surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Adair at Clemans had charge of the after noon program Gifts were ex changed and my stery sisters re vealed The next meeting will be av the home of Mrs. William Thomp son. Mrs. Ralph Rees and Mrs Lank Sagestr will present the les son. Mrs. Fisher served a lunch eon of home made ice cream anil strawberries, angle food cake, coffee and tea. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Rees and family of Denver. Colo., are ex pected to spend Christmas with lus parents, Mr and Mrs. Ralph Rees and her mother, Mrs Will Matthauser of Burwell. LXm Peterson arrived home Fri day night from Casper. Wyo., to spend the Christmas vacation with his parents, Mr and Mrs Oscar Peterson. They expect to go to Schulyer to spend Christmas with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs Paul Johnston, Mark and Kay. The Johnstons recently moved to Schuyler from Freemont and Mr. Johnston has been selected’ as assistant county agent of Col fax County at Schulyer. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Peterson are driving a new black and white Pontiac. Miss Sheila Kaiser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Art Kaiser has been a patient in the Burwell hospital recently. We understand she is abel to lie home now. Sheila at tends school in O'Neill. Mrs. George Fullerton enter tained her club at dinner on Thurs day evening. Rodger Waldo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Waldo was ill with an appendicitis attack last week. He plans to have surgery during tile Christmas vacation. Neal Madsen, son of Mr, and Mrs. Tenus Madsen, will have a tonsilectomy during the vacation time. Mrs. Vem Sageser writes that her mother, Mrs. E. L. Minter of Council Bluffs, la., is much im proved and able to be homo from the hospital. The Amelia Progressive club met Wednesday, Dec. 16 at the home of Mrs. Paul Fisher.
