Mr. Gokie is a graduate of St.
Mary’s Academy, class of 1955
and spent three years in the U. S.
Navy. At present he is farming
with his father.

began November 22 with clothing

group about the dedication of the
National Shrine of the Immac
ulate Conception in Washington,

Arthur B. McKay, son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. D. C. McKay,
was born at Ewing September 13,
1894 and died at his home in
Oregon, November 8th. after a
lingering illness of many months,
at the age of 65 years 1 month and
25 days "Chalsie” as he was
known in Ewing, received his
education at the Ewing public
school. For a time he clerked m
the store owned by his brother,
Ernest He later built Summerland
and operated it for a number of
years.
On October 3, 1917, he was
united in Marriage to Mary Lar
sen. Three children were born to
this union. They made their home
in Ewing many years before mov
ing to Norfolk, where Mr. McKay
was overseer of the Nebraska
State Hospital. On retirement two
years ago, he and Mrs. McKay
moved to Beaverton, Ore., to make
their home.
Proceeding him in death are his
parents and two sisters. Survivors
arc; Wife. Mary; twodaughters -
Mrs. Marvis O'Connell of Beaver
ton. Ore., and Mrs. Dorothy James
of Imperial Beach. Calif.; son—
Ellsworth (Mick) of Atkinson;
brother, Ernest of Norfolk.; seven
grandchildren, and a number of
cousins in the Ewing community.
Funeral services were conducted
at the Pegg and Paxson Chimes-of
the-Valley Chapel in Beaverton.

presented-to our District president
at the state convention recently.

evening. The business meeting w-as
presided over by our president

spending several months with their

turned home late Sunday night
after spending the weekend in
eastern Nebraska and Iowa. Satur
day they were dinner guests of
Mr. Roberts’ brother and family

Dakota City. They spent some time
in Sioux City on business and then
drove to Climbing Hill, la., to
visit Fred's sister and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Lester Harding where
they were overnight guests. On

F. L. Roberts and other relatives
at Allen. Enroute home they visi
ted briefly in Creighton at the

Fred Dobrovolny, who left re
cently to spend a few winter
months in the south, that he ar
rived safely and reports the weat
her to be damp and quite cold with

grees. Fred is living at McAllen,
Texas.
