McKay better known in Ewing as ‘'Chalsie” died at his name in Portland, Ore., on Sun Jay evening after a lingering il lness. Word was received in Ewing jn Monday. No funeral arrange inents had been made. Mr McKay and his family were former residents of this com munity and are well known here. Before going west the McKays made their home in Norfolk foi a number of years. Guests on Saturday at the home f Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Lueken, Route 2, Lynch, performed a tour of patrol duty October 26 November 2 while assigned to the 14th Armored Cav alry’ Regiment’s 1st Battalion in Fulda, Germany. The primary mission of the regi ment is the constant surveillance of NATO's Fulda Gap, a 100-mile segment of the Iron Curtain which serves as the gateway to Central Germany. Specialist Lueken, a mechanic in the battalion's Company A, enter j ed the Army in January 1967 and | arrri ed overseas in April 1957. The 20-year-old soldier is a 1955 graduate of Lynch High School.
