Denton Colfack went to Lincoln Monday to get his sister. Miss Shirley Colfack. She will spend some time with her parents, Mr and Mrs Emil Colfack before her marriage October 24 to Johnny Lea go of Houston, Tex. Mr and Mrs. Roscoe S. A group of Extension club pres I idents and their representatives met Tuesday evening at the home of Atkinson Center chairman, j Mrs. Marian Roberts in Atkinson to make plans for Achievement Day. which will be held October IS) in O'Neill. The Atkinson Center is one of the groups which will prepare a booth for selling fancy breads at the activities. Enroute home the .McClurgs visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Doming north of Stuart. The Golden Key 4-H club met Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Rothchild in Atkinson for the last meeting of the season. There were 18 members present, each answering roll call with, “What we would like to use our money in the club treasury for.” It was decided to use the money for a Halloween party and to send interested mem bers to 4-H camp next summer. They will have their party on No vember 1. the place to be decid ed later. New officers were elected and installed are as follows: Mrs. Dale Barnes, leader; Dolores Vin zenz, president; Jim Thorpe, vice president; Ronnie Barnes socre 1 tary; Bill Thorpe, reporter and Jeanie Prussa and Frank Prussa, recreation leaders. The next meot : ing will not lie until spring. Mrs. Fred Roberts entertained i her Sunday school class at a party and wiener roast Sunday evening at her home. This was j the Junior class of the Presby j terian church and the following young people attended: Barbara \ Soger, Gary Evans, Judy Fare well. Shirley Miller, Janet Gar wood. Tommy Tingle, Joe Wilson, Bernard Anderson and Dwayne Lauridson. After the wiener roast I games were played. Faye Nilson of Hadley, Minn, j visited at the home of his sister ' and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Roberts and his parents, the Clyde Nilsons Sunday evening enroute to Kearney where he has employ ment. Dean Gokie and a group of young people narrowly escaped injury Sunday evening when the car which they were driving went out of control at the west edge of Atkinson and rolled over. O'Neill Locals Mr. and Mrs. Jack Haggerty, Bernice Frazeur and Mrs. Susan Kubichek arrived Friday evening from Casper, Wyo., find spent the weekend at the Kieth Abart and Ed Hancock homes. They return ed on Monday. Dale, Alice and Roger Ventei eher of Norfolk are spending the week with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Sauser. Mose Gaughenbaugh of San Francisco, Calif., spent the past week visiting relatives and friends at O'Neill and Atkinson. Wednesday Mr. Gaughenbaugh, Mrs. Clarence Gilg and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ziska spent the day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Walsh at Wilcox. Mr. and Mrs. George C. Robert son returned September 30 from a 30-day trip through the eastern states, Canada and at Oklahoma City and BenkJeman. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hamik were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. A1 Hamik and family at O’Neill. They helped the twins celebrate their first birthday. They were enroute to their home in WTahoo following a hunting trip to Wyo ming. Mr and Mrs. Stanley Bartak left Thursday for Denver where they will visit their son, Jack, who is in service there. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Larson spent Sunday evening at the Hen ry Reimer home. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Reimer, Helen Martens of Atkinson and Mrs. Marvelene Garwood and son of Spencer attended the Hawaiian tour get-together at Blair on Sat urday evening. A 6 p.m. dinner was served at the First Lutheran ' church after which pictures taker on the trip were shown. Mr. and Mrs. Rollo Berry en tertained at a card party Friday evening at the Sand Creek school house. Eight tables of cards were at play. George Minning won men's high, George Hitchcock men’s second high. Mrs. George Minning won women’s high and Mrs. John Sweet second high. The next card party will be giv en by Mr. and Mrs. George Kci del. The next club meeting will I be at Mrs. George Minnings on October 15 and Mrs. Alois Schma derer will be the hostess. All members are requested to bring a Christmas gift idea to the next club meeting.
