Berigan, Oak Par!;. III. The al ar was decorated with baskets of wn ,e gladioli. Mrs Mary Fitzsimmons Massey sang Ave Maria and O Sanctisima, ac compnnied by Mrs. Edward Mor arity of Omaha. The bride’s nep hews, Mike Stinson, Norfolk, and Joe McQuillan, Hastings, assisted at the altar. Escorted to the altar by her fa ther the bride wore a floor-length gown of liouquct taffeta with ac cents of imported Alencon lace. The dress was designed with a sculptured txxiice and Sabrina neckline. The taffeta sleeves tapered to the wrists. A full skirt with an aisle wide train was accented with jew eled medallions which high light ed the floating panels of taffeta falling from the waistline. A cap of Alencon lace with jewel trim held her triple tier veil of imported illusion. She carried a cascade arrangement of white roses and stephanotis with bran ches of ivy leaves tied with fros ted lace edged ribbon. Mrs T. H. Joyce of Bremerton, Wash., was her sister’s matron of honor. Bridesmaid was Jeannet te Pasin, sister of the bridegroom. They wore ballerina frocks of li lac pure silk organza over taf feta, featuring Sabrina necklines and bracelet sleeves. A band of velvet circled the dropped waist line with velvet bows and stream ers falling to the hemline in the mint. Their bouquets were styled like that of the bride’s with mat ching lavendar asters and bran ches of ivy. Best man tor ms nmuri-ur law was Dr. Stephen Contor, Ri ver Forsest, III. Roger Tonelli and Robert Berigan, O’Neill, were ushers. The mother of the bride wore a navy blue lace dress with navy accessories. The mother of the bridegroom chose a dress of gold brocade with gold accessories. Both wore a corsage of gold throat, white orchids with silver ribbons Following the ceremony, the bride's parents gave a brunch (or 75 guests at the Rlackstono Hotel. Mrs. Pasin is a graduate of St. Jcnrph high school in Atkinson and attended Rosary College in River Ford('st, 111. The bridgroom was graduated from Fenwick high school and the Notre Dame school of Cbmmerce and Law. Mr. and Mrs. Pasin are travel it« on the S. S. United States and will tour England. Ireland, France Switzerland and Italy. They will return to the United States De-. 12 and will be a home at 510 N. Forest. Oak Park, 111. Weekend guests at the Ebben gaard home were his niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Munson from Omaha. Rev. and Mrs. Woodrow Elliot went to South Sioux City on Tues day to attend the Women’s So ciety of Christian Service seminar. Rev. Elliot accompanied her. Mrs. Elliot will aslo attend seminars at Crawford Valley on Wednes day and at Bassett on Thursday. She is a district official. The Try and Do home exten sion club was entertained Thurs day evening at the home of Mrs. John Pruden. Mrs. George Kel ler and Mrs. Merlin Meyers were guests and Mrs. Weldon Alexan der is a new member. Election of officers was held with the folloiving results: Mrs. Ivan Wright, president; Mrs. Jer ry Rotherham. vice-president; Mrs. Richard Brion, secretary treasurer; Mrs. Pruden, reading chairman and Mrs. Floyd Butter field, news reporter, Plans for the coming year were studied and discussed. Various types of re cipe Ixioks were given each. A social hour awl refreshment brought the evening session to a close. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Newman of Gary, Ind., were guests on Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. R- Harris and fam ily. They were enroute to Lin coln to visit her parents after spending ten days in the Black Hills and Denver. Mr. Newman is a cousin of Mr. Harris. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Ruby of Buffalo, Wyo., are guests at the home of his sister, Hazel Ruby and his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Ruby. Sunday the Ruby family held a gathering at ahe home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Beelaert and fam ily near Page. From Ewing were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Ruby, the Misses Hazel Ruby and Elsie Chase and Mr. and Mrs. A. J. ivuuy. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Christ on and family of Colorado City, Tex., wore weekend guests of his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lar son Other guests on Sunday at the Larson home were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pahl and family of Oakland. Mr. and Mrs. William Hobbs and children went to Norfolk on Sunday to visit at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Schiffbauer, who has been ill sev eral weeks and is now convalesc ing at his home. , Saturday evening and dinner guests at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Woodrow Elliot were Rev. and Mrs. Merlin Loftis and fam ily of Plainview. Rev. Loftis is pastor of the Methodist churches at Crawford Valey and Stark Valley near Plainview. Harold Kline of Norfolk was a Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Wood. Rev. Woodrow Elliott accompan ied by Miss Karen Wrenholt of Clearwater went to Atkinson on Sunday afternoon where they at tended a sub-district Youth Coun cil meeting. Miss Wrenholt is secretary-treasurer of the sub district. Rev. and Mrs- T. J. Scahill and son of Elgin were Sunday cal lers at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Woodrow Elliott. Kay Rotherham attended the Seventh annual yearbook and pho tography clime sponsored by Gold’s in Lincoln on Saturday. She was accompanied by two Sis ters from St. Mary’s Academy and a group of anual staff mem bers. While there she visited her sister, Beverly, a student nurse at St. Elizabeth’s and her bro ther, Ron, a senior at the Uni versity of Nebraska. Sunday was Rally Day for the Sunday school of the First Meth odist church in Ewing with 67 students and officers in attend ance. Special vocal and instrumen tal selections w-ere given by clas ses taught by Mrs. Marcus Pier son. Mrs. Dewitt Hoke and Mrs H. R. Harris. Mrs. Willis Rockey. superinten dent of the Primary department, reported 18 present .Marilyn Se divy was promoted to the junior class. Janet Hubei, Lonnie Lac ker, Russell Tuttle, seventh and eighth graders were promoted to Mrs. Hoke’s class. Clayton Hoke Larry Tuttle, Ronald Tuttle and Dale Hubei to Waldo Da\i* class. Bonnie Welke and Sandra Elliott to Mrs. Harris’ class. Certificates of 'promotion were presented to the primary students by Mrs. Rockey and the upper classes received theirs from Supt. Dewitt Hoke. The adult Sunday school class is taught by Ray Sedivy. Teach ers assisting Mrs. Rockey in the primary department are Mrs. Se divy and Miss Bertha Harris. Mrs. J. L. Pruden is the secre tary and treasurer. M. and Mrs. Waldo Davis went to Sioux City on Thursday where they attended the funeral of his cousin, William Johnson. The First Methodist church in Ewing will observe world wide communion on Sunday, October 4th. Rev. Woodrow Elliot is the pastor. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Tomjack and family went to Woodbine, la., on Sunday where they joined other relatives in celebrating the 82nd birthday of Mrs. Tomjack's grand father, Walter Shoff. One of the high lights of the day for Cathy Tomjack, almost five, and her brother, Steve, three, was an air plane ride with their uncle. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Edwards and family of Bassett attended the football game between the Ewing Tigers and Stuart at Ewing Fri day evening and remained over night with friends. Attending the Antelope Teach ers’ Association banquet held at the Lutheran church in Clearwa ter Monday evening from Ewing were Mrs. Mildred Tams, Mrs. Elmer Grim, Mrs. Viola Parks, Mrs. L M. • Carter and Mrs. Grace Thompson. Mrs. Leonard Knapp, Mrs. Max Wanser, Mrs. Joe Sturbaum and Mrs. Frank Schrad attended the Omaha archdiocese Council of Ca tholic Women held at Hartington on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Shaw vis ited Sunday with relatives in O’ Neill. Mrs. Andrew Olson was a Sun day guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Harris and family. The American Legion and Aux iliary. District 2 convention was held September 21 at Stuart, with an attendance of 171. Attending from Sanders Post 214 in Ewing were Bob Eppenbach, commander Jay Butler, service officer and Ernest Pierson. Stanley Huffman, past depart ment commander, gave the main address. Mrs. Huffman is chair man of the department of junior activities. Mrs. Genie McGlasson of Lincoln, chairman of the de partment of rehabilitation, was chosen as Queen for a Day at the afternoon session of the auxiliary. District two voted to give $25 to the Little Red School House f 11 nH The Norfolk Junior college elec ion results of senators and alter nates were announced by Dean William McDonald on Saturday.
