Holt County Youths Do Well at Recent Fairs Three Holt county youths com bined to take top honors and blue ribbons at the Newport Open 4-H show Saturday and again at the Orchard 4-H fair Monday. James Melcher showed the Grand Champion Breeding heifer, a Hereford, and his brother Tommy, a blue ribbon in the same division in Newport. Becky Beelaert showed the champion Angus steer and champion Angus stocker-feeder and received a blue for her bred heifer. At Orchard Tommy's heifer was grand champion and Becky Beel aert’s Angus bred heifer was re serve champion. Becky also show ed the grand champion baby beef. In addition to the cattle honors. Tommy also won first place in beef showmanship. James was second and Becky was third.
