Mullen Funeral Is Held Today Funeral services were conduct ed at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at St. Patrick's Catholic church in O’Neill for Homer F. Mullen, 61, who died August 18 at St. An thony’s hospital in O’Neill. Rosary was held Wednesday evening at 8:00 at Biglin’s Chapel. He was born December 18, 1897 at O'Neill to P. D. and Mary Mc Ginnis Mullen. On February 14, 1927 he married Helen B. Wilcox. Survivors include his widow, Helen; sister Mrs. J. M. Dierks, Nebraska City; brother, Owen, Nebraska City; and his mother. Gas Bill Too High? Neil Has Answer Neil Ryan has completed a roundtrip junket to Neenah, Wis., 650 miles away, where he visited his brother, Joseph. His gas and oil bill for the 1,300 miles totaled $8.50. Explanation: Ryan made the trip by motorcycle. He has been scooting around Holt county all summer with the ’cycle, but the Neenah excursion was the first far afield with the two-wheeler. ‘‘Took a day to go up and a day to return,” said Ryan, “about the same time as I’ve needed in the past to drive it by car.” Pioneer Resident Dies at Neligh; Services at Ewing Josephine Klemert Reinke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franz Klemert was horn in Germany on December 2, 1878. When a young woman, she came with her parents to America. The family settled at Columbus, where in 1912 she was united in marriage to Samuel Reinke. One daughter was born to this union. The following year, she and her husband moved to the Goose Lake community where she made her home for forty five years. They moved to Ewing in 1957. The past year, owing to her husband’s health, they have been living at the Kahland Rest Home in Neligh. She died suddenly Tuesday eve ning at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 12 days. Funeral services were conducted Friday morning at 9:30 in St. Peter’s church at Ewing, with Rev. P. F. Burke officiating. The rosary was conducted by Rev. Burke at the Snider Mortuary at Clearwater Thursday evening. Pallbearers were Joe Thoendel, Joe Weibel, John Tagle, Leonard Hill, Albert Latzel and Adolph Koenig. Burial was made at the parish cemetery, north of Ewing under j the direction of the Snider Mor tuary. Survivors are her husband and1 one daughter, Mollie Reinke of Tilden.
