CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS May 5, 1959, 8:00 P M Council met as per adjourned. Present Mayor Schaffer, Coun cilmen Gleeson, Moore, Carroll, Mattem, Heermann, Reynoldson, JanouM-k and McIntosh. Aliment none. Meeting was called to order by the Mayor. Motion by McIntosh, seconded by Janousek, that the minutes of the Previous meeting be approved as read Motion carried. Motion by Gleeson, Seconded by McIntosh, that the council pay Mr. I'ora Knight $25 00* rent for the Television towers on his property for the year ending December 8, 1959. Motion carried. Motion by Moore, seconded by McIntosh that the City install ap proximately 200 feet ot water main north on 7th street between Ever ett and liouglas Streets, starting at Everett Street. Motion carried. Motion by Gleeson, seconded by McIntosh that the City Attorney contact Kirkham-Michael and As sociates, to do the engineering of the water wells and extensions, for the City on the proposed water ex tension. Motion carried. Motion by Moore, seconded by Gleeson, that Mareelius Schaaf be given a raise of $15.00 per month commencing May 1, 1959. Motion carried. The mayor appointed J. R. Gal lagher Attorney, John C. Watson Treasurer and O. li. French City Clerk, and the O'Neill Frontier the official newspaper for the coming fiscal year. Motion by Gleeson, seconded by Carroll that the Mayor s appoint ments lie approved. Motion earned. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF O'NEILL, NE BRASKA: section l. me Mayor aim Council of the City ot O'Neill, Ne braska, Iiererby iind and deter mine: A Petition has been tiled with the City Clerk and presented to the City Council petitioning for the creation of a paving district for the improvement ot Seventh Street from the north line of Doug las Street to the north line of Ad ams Street in the City of O'Neill, Nebraska. As determined by the record in the office of the County Clerk and Register of deeds of said County there are 11 resident owners owning property directly abutting upon the street proposed to be improved and 7 of said re sident owners owning property di rectly abutting upon the street to be improved have signed said pe tition. The petition is sufficient in form and signed by the required number of said resident owners. Section 2. There is hereby meat ed within said City Paving Distrist Number 28 which shall include all the urea within the following outer boundaries to-wit: Commencing at the mid-point on the South side of Block 13 of the Original Town of O'Neill, Nebraska; thence north to the mid-point on the south side of Block 18 of the McCafferty's Addition in the City of O'Neill; thence east to the mid-point on the south side of Block H of the McCafferty’s Second Addition in the City of O’Neill; thence south to the mid-point on the south side of Block C of the Fahy's Second Addition m die City of O'Neill; thence west to the point of beginning. The street to lie improved is Seventh Street from the north line of Douglas Street to the north line of Adams Street in the City of O'Neill, Nebraska. Section 3. The part of the street included in Paving District Num ber 28 is ordered improved by pav ing, curbing and guttering and such work as may lie incidental thereto at public cost but the City shall levy special assessments on the property specially benefited by said improvements proportionate to ben efits as provided by law to reim burse the City.
