Sam Gilman and Tom Doolittle spent several days last week near Bonesteel, S. D. They had “pretty good” luck. Orland Fryrear and Asa Watson fished there Friday and Orland brought the “Big one” home. He snared a 17 pound northern. Joyce Doolittle caught a nice one at Slaymaker’s lake. We heard it weighed 5 or 6 pounds anywany. Joyce was pretty thrilled. Sharon Watson visited her sister 'and brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Everett near Atkinson last week. Mrs. Julia White of Atkinson spent Sunday, May 17 with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry O’Malley purchased the Mrs. Mildred Wan dersee house in Chambers and had it moved to the Mrs. Blanche O'Malley ranch last week. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Green of Cottage Grove, Ore., are visiting relatives in this vicinity and near Chambers. Mrs. Green is the for mer Thelma Snelson, sister to Mrs. Delbert Edwards of Amelia. The Snelson family had a re union at the Edward’s home Sun day, May 17. Mrs. Edith Andersen entertained at supper Wednesday evening, May 20. The occasion being in obser vance of her birthday anniversary and that of Mrs. S. C. Barnett which was on the following Sunday. Those present besides the honored guests were S. C. Barnett, Mr. and Mi's. Eamie Johnston and Mr. and Mrs. Lew Backhaus. Reverend and Mrs. Kay Joy and son, Donald Kay of Walla Walla, Wash., are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn White. The Whites met them in Grand Island inursuay rngru. Mr. and Mrs. Eamie Johnston attended the funeral of Mrs. John ston’s aunt at Bertrand, Saturday. They returned home Sunday eve ning after visiting relatives at Hol redge over Saturday night and Sun day. Harold Waldo of Denver, Colo., came Saturday and is spending a week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Waldo and other re latives. Harold is employed in forestry and expects to work in Wyoming this summer. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fisher went to McPherson, Kans , to attend the alumni banquet at Central College and also be present at the grad uation exercises. Their daughter, Dorothy is one of the graduates from the college there. It is a two-year college. Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Lloyd Waldo, Roger, Darla, Debra, Bruce and Larry, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Werner, Connie and Dennie and Harold Waldo were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Waldo Sunday. Debra Carr, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Carr was quite ill and hospitalized at St. Anthony’s hospital in O’Neill last week. She was able to return home Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Lew Backhaus went to O’Neill Thursday to meet her brother, Charlie Vrooman and family of Orchard. The Vroomans are leaving soon to make their home in Washington state.
