Another large crowd of good buyers were on , hand to bid on an excellent spring run of light cattle and breeding cows. Choice light weight steer calves sold from $36.00-$39.00 cwt. Heavy weight calves $33.00 to $35.50 with short yearling kinds at $30 00 to $32. 75. Heifer calves largely $32.00 to $33.50 heavy weights $29.50 to $31.50 cwt. Short yearlings at $27.00 to $29.00 cwt. Only a few packages of strong weight year ling kinds offered with those sellng from $26.75 to $28.50 on the steers and $24.75 to $26.00 on the heifers. Angus Breeding cows sold from $200.00 to $266.00 per head while the Connell Hereford cows sold from $235.00 to $260 per head. Butcher cattle sold on a largely steady basis with some classes showing a little weakness. Cutters largely $15.00 to $16.50. Best beef kinds ! $16.75 to $17.50; canners $13.75 to $14.75; Bulls $19.00 to $21.15 cwt. Next Special Auction will be held March 17th. She passed away Feb. 26. 1959, at O’Neill, Nebraska. * Her childhood was spent in Omaha. Nebr., where she was graduated from South High School in 1916. loiter she studied at The University of Oma ha. On June 23, 1920, she was mar ried to Clay H. Johnson of Neligh. Nebr. To this union was born three children. After living near Neligh Royal and Page, the family moved to O'Neill in 1935 where they have, since resided. Until recently they operated the Johnson Dairy in O' Neill, during which time many last ing and cherished friendships have been formed. Mrs. Johnson was a zealous member of The Woman's Christian Temperance Union in which she served in various capacities on local, county and state levels She was a charter memoer of The Woman's Society of Christian Service of The O'Neill Methodist Church. She had been presented a life membership in The Woman's Society. Aside from her family her great est devotion was to The Methodist Church. Christian conduct, faithful attendance, and sincere efforts in her church and Sunday’ School work always have merited an im portant role in her life. Her Christian attitude, firm con victions, and strict moral stand ards of discipline have endeared her to the hearts of her family and her friends. She may l»e removed, temporarily, from her loved ones , hut her actions will lie rememlver-1 ed long and by many. Survivors include her husband, j Play Johnson, Sr.; one daughter. Funeral Services were held Feb. 28, 1959, at I’he Methodist Church of O'Neill, with Rev. Glenn Ketuii cott officiating and with Biglin's in charge. Mr. R. W. Johnson of Neligh sang "Goin’ Home" and "The Lord's Prayer." Mrs. R. R. Herley presided at the Organ. Pallbearers were: Bennett Gilles pie; Da re 11 Baker; Frank Eppen bach; Donald Maw; Helmut /Vrn old; anti Walter Young; Ushers were: Neil Dawes and Ralph Young. Burial was at Neligh. Ewing and Neligh O'Neill Locals Mrs. Edith Young returned Feb ruary 25 from an evtended trip visiting rolntves and friends She first visited her son, Harold, and family at Chanute, Kanas going then to Kansas City to set' her daughter, ivirothy, and netv grand nughter, Rochester, Minn, was her next stop to visit another son,Stanley, and family.
