Inman Dumps Page with Appleby Hot Get* 24 in Renewal of Rivalry INMAN Dick Appleby hit the hoop from all angles Friday night as the Inman Tigers — with six wins and one loss thus far—rolk*d to a 59-47 win over their nearby neighbors, the Page Eagles. Ap pleby had 24 points. Bob Ruther played good defen sive ball for the winners and con tributed 13 points. Dennis Kemper led the Page of fensive with 10. Inman led 13-9 at the first quar ter mark and 23-17 at halftime. A fat (23-point) third quarter pushed the Tigers far out in front. Inman’s second team remained undefeated by stopping the un beaten Page reserves, 37-34, in a thriller. Albert Kopejtka and K. Kivett [Kitted 10 and nine [mints, respec tively, for the winners, Inian’s volleyball team likewise remained undefeated, measuring | the Page gais, 49-20. I igers Triumph Over Orchard INMAN It was 22 for Dick Ap pleby and 18 for Bob Ruther here Tuesday night as the Inman Tig ers registered another win. They knocked off Orchard, 6946, in a breeze. It was a wide open game and both teams played rugged ball most of the game. In the third per iod the Tigers registered 23 points. Inman led 15-6 at the first quarter and 27-22 at intermission. Stan Clifton hit 19 to lead the Or iles. Inman's volleyball team annex ed another, winning 26-24 in one overtime period. It was the fourth Sandhills Gatew ay conference win for the gals. The Tigers are undefeated in | loop competition.
