Yule Party—
AMELIA Helping Hand club
met Thursday, December 11, at
the home of Mrs. Bernard Black
more for the Christmas party.
After the usual dinner, the meet
ing was called to order by Mrs.
Link Sageser, president, singing
“Silent Night", and repeating the
“lord's Prayer”. Some sugges
tions of what you have made for
Christmas was for roll call and
was answered by all members ex
cept one, Mrs. Vern Sageser, who
entered the O’Neill St Anthony’s
hospital.
A card was signed by all mem
bers and sent to Mrs. Sagerser and
another one was sent to Mrs. Rose
Robyler at the Plantation home in
Elgin. She had sent the club a
Christmas card.
Mrs. Waldo and Mrs. Lindsey
gave a very good program of
scrambled pies, picture quiz and
contests. Mrs. Ralph Rees and
Mrs. Elmer Coolidge will have the
program for February. There will
be a lesson or January 8 at the
home of Mrs. Will David, when the
1 new officers will take over.

APRICOT BRAID
(Makes 1 large braid*
Vi cup milk, scalded
Vi cup butter
Vi cup sugar
'2 teaspoon salt
Vi cup warm water
1-ounce package active dry

1 egg. beaten
4 to 4 Vs cups sifted flour
Apricot Filling
l cup chopped cooked dried
ipricots
1- 3 cup brown sugar, firmly
lacked
2- 3 cup water
V2 cup chopped nuts
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Glaze
1 egg yolk, slightly beaten with
2 tablespoons milk
Crumb Mixture
2V2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon sugar
Vi teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespixin butter
Combine milk, butter, sugar and
;alt; stir until dissolved. Cool -to
ukewarm. Combine yeast and
vater; stir until dissolved. Stir
n milk mixture and the egg; mix
veil. Add flour gradually; heat un
ill smooth. Turn out on lightly
loured surface and knead until
smooth and elastic. Put in greas- i
