in Cleveland Church

the bride Sunday, November JO,
of Luther L^eroy Lakey of Chicago,
III., son of Mr. and Mrs. Hoy Lak
ey of Reynolds, at a 2 p.m. cere
mony it! the Cleveland Presbyter
ian church north of Stuart. He.
Herbert Young officiated. One
hundred-fifty guests were present.
The church was decorated with
pine boughs and bittersweet and
candlebra was entwined with the
bittersweet.
Cavin Allyn, brother of the
bride, sang, “Because" and the
"Lord's Prayer", while accompan
ied on the piano by Joan MeClurg,
cousin of the bride.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, appeared in a gown of
imjx>rted Chantilly lace and tulle
over satin. The sabrina neckline
of the basque ixxiice of lace was
patterned with iridescent sequins
and long sleeves tapered to bridal
|x>ints over the hands. Beneath the
narrow waist, the iridescent se
quins were repeated on lace floral
appliques to trim the extremely
noun ant sairt oi alternate panels
of lace and tulle.
Her veil was an heirloom crown
of pearls with tulle illusion cas
cading to the waist. She carried a
bouquet of red roses.
Matrorv-of-honor, Alice McClurg,
of Lincoln, sister oi the bride,
wore a waltz length dress of Jad
ette erystalette with a contrasting
cummerbund of spring mint. The
gathered skirt and cummerbund
cascaded down into the balloon
skirt effect.
The bridesmaid, Miss Jean Al
lyn ot Stuart, sister of the bride,
wore a dress similar to the mat
ron-of-honor, only in spring mint.
They l>oth carried bouquets of
tangerine carnations.
Calvin E. McClurg of Lincoln,
was bestman, Richard Keidel of
Stuart was the attendant and
Charles Sweet of Stuart was an
usher. They wore dark business
suits.
Debroah Allyn of Stuart, a cous
in of the bride, was the flower girl
Another cousin of the bride, Rob
ert Slaymaker of Stuart, was ring
bearer.
Following the ceremony, a re
ception was given in the church
parlors by the bride's parents.
Mrs. Elmer Allyn was hostess.
Mrs. Arlin Caster of Sidney assis
ted her. Mrs. Herbert Sweet cut
the cake, Misses Sandra and Mary
Slaymaker of Stuart and "Betty
Zink were stivers. Mrs. Delbert
Gentele had the guest book.
Out of town guests were from:
Sidney. Wewela, S.D.; Lincoln.
Hebron, Chester, Crete, ^Norfolk.
