White stayed and spent the week

Bill Rees and a friend, Dick
Lahr, and son, Steve, and Dick
Williamson of Omaha spent Satur
day and Sunday visiting her par
ents, and did some pheasant hunt
ing while here.
Joe Stoecker went to Bloomfield
Thursday to visit his sister. He
also visited relatives at Schuyler
and North Bend.
Pfc. Hale Kennedy and Pfc.
Dale Doolittle spent the weekend
with their respective parents, the
M. B Kennedys and the Art Doo
littles They are stationed at Ft.
Sill, Okla.

Mrs. Eva Backhaus and Caro
line of Atkinson spent Tuesday,
November 11 at their home in
Amelia. Caroline was on vacation
since the stores were observing
veterans day.

recently had both liones in her
ankle broken in a fall.
Mr. and Mrs. Gene Livingston
of Atkinson visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Floyd Sageser of Kansas
City, at the Vem Sageser home in
Amelia Thursday evening. They
were supper guests

knocked down the first mail box
on his route Monday morning
coming out of Atkinson The road
was very slick due to the snow and
he hit the mail box to avoid go
ing in the ditch. Hale Kennedy al
ran in the ditch as he turned Ihe

Angus Unit Head
The annual meeting of the Holt
County Angus association was held
Saturday, November 15, for the
purpose of electing officers for the
coming year. Seven members were
present.
Harvey Krugman and Gerald
Snyder Joined the association as
new members.
The following officers were elec
ted: Frank Beelaert of Page, pres
ident; Blaine Garwood of Amelia,
vice-president; Louis Bartos of O'
NeiH, secretary and treasurer.
Dale Revell of O'Neill was re
elected to the hoard of directors.
Plans for the banquet February
6 and the annual sale February 7
1 were discussed.
Lunch was served by Mr and
Mrs. Blaine Garwood.

Back from Europe
PAGE Vernon Boelter, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Boelter, who
was stationed in Germany the past
18 months, arrived at Sioux City
Saturday where he was met by
his parents.

Roll call was answered by tell
ing "something for which to lie
thankful", Mrs. Mae Sageser read
two poems on "Thankfulness"
Mrs. Blackmore led the lesson on
"Homemade Christmas Gifts."
Next meeting will be the Chris
mas party and gift exchange at
the home of Mrs Julia Black
