There was no end to ghost ly appariations and funny faces as the members, accompanied by their parents, assembled for an exciting evening. They were greeted at the door by the host or hostess and ushered to the basement where they play ed games after first being given a “hypo” with a very realistic needle, tho a trifle large, which was administered by Norma Widt feldt, who posed as a “doctor”. This created a lot of excitement. Some of the small fry. who are familiar with getting shots for dif ferent ailments, were frightened to tears when approached by the "doctor”. All members were present ex cept Mary Jo Curran and Lynda Hynes, the latter being sick. The John Schultz and Sam Derickson families were visitors. The grownups were entertained playing cards during the evening. Refreshments of chiliburgers and donuts were served. Complcker Accident at Tilden— Sunday when Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hovey were dinner guests of her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Pittack, of Tilden, they learned of a cornpicking ac cident last Thursday when Freder ick Pittack of Tilden lost a hand and three toe nails when he put his foot up to free himself. Unmar ried, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Pittack of Tilden. After the accident, he walked to a house about a half-mile away. His sister in-law took him to the Tilden hos pital. Others attending the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Mur ray and daughter. Miss Etta and son, Francis, a business adminis tration student at the University of Nebraska. Too many things to do for one day or evening, so the activ ity was distributed over two or three days and evenings. Thursday evening Miss Nina j Burival had supper with the Sam ! Derickson family and then gath ered up all the pupils (10 includ ing Debbie Schultz, a visitor* and took them to O'Neill for a few j calls of "trick-or-treats”. They l were quite an impressive looking ! group all decked out in their var i ious costumes. Friday afternoon the children j had a party at school, playing i games and wearing costumes, j They received treats from the j teacher. Debbie Schultz attended ! school all day. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wilson and daughter, Terri, were Sunday af ternoon guests at the John Schultz home. They called briefly on the Floyd Johnson family on their way home. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Braun visited at the John Schultz home Monday afternoon. Fred Ernst is having his hay cabled to the buildings this week. Not only was it an ideal day for a drive through the autumn countryside, but she had a pleas ant visit with a friend, discussing this and that. Mrs. Bruebaker died Monday, October 27, following a lingering illness. She is survived by her husband, two daughters and sev eral grandchildren.
