I SPENCER—Glenn J. Criss, 61,
an army veteran of World War I,
j died Friday, October 17, at the
| home of his mother, Mrs. E. M.
j Couch, at Spencer.
Funeral services were conduct
ed at 2 p.m., Monday, October 20,
at the United Lutheran church in
Spencer with Rev. Hugh O. Dow
lor, church pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Union cemetery
here under direction of the Jones
| funeral home.
Members of Luther Whidden

ducted military graveside rites.
Pallbearers were Leonard Kinney,
Robert Hickey, Albert Schmaltz.

Russell Angus.

comer (Fourth and Clay sts.) The standard U.S. mail box has a
scoop mouth that permits motorists to pull alongside and deposit

Hawks in an exciting football
game here Friday, 18-13.
Spencer got the first touchdown
in the opening quarter, but the
Hawks went ahead in the same
period when Jimmie Boelter
crossed the goal-line and also add
ed the conversion point.
Spencer took a 12-7 half-time
lead with a second quarter TD.
The third quarter was scoreless,
The Pirates made it 18-7 in the
early part of the final period, but
Arlie Nelson ran 65 yards for a
Verdigre counter to make it 18-13.
