During the business meeting in
which Mrs. Jesse Kelly presided,
plans were made for the annual
bazaar The King's Daughters
will have the food booth and the
fish pond while the WSCS will Ik*
in charge of the fancywork dis
play and the 25 cent table. 1 dinner
and supper will be served election
day Tuesday. November 4. No
charge will lie made for children
under school age. Those under 12
yoars-old will be charged 50 cents
and adults $1.

Daughters will . serve the noon

Plans for the annual UNICEF
program are underway. The chil
dren w'ill meet at the church as
usual before going out in groups
to canvass the town for funds to
purchase milk for under privileg
ed children both at home and
abroad.
A bill for $3.15 for UNICEF ma
terial was presented and Mrs.
Herbert Steinlierg reminded the
group that the mission pledge of
$100 is due November 1, also
$11.35 supple asking. All bills
were ordered paid.
The Monday evening study
course is given each week at the
church at 8 o’clock. Mrs. Edgar
Stauffer is the leader.
Get-well cards were sent to Miss
Faye Irene BalJantyne of Inde
pendence, Mo., who was injured
in a car wreck and is hospitalized
there, and to Mrs. L. G. Bern
holtz. who is a patient at St. An
thony’s hospital at O’Neill, being
treated for a diabetic condition.

Mrs. Melvin Held was honored
Friday afternoon and presented
with a gift when the members of
the GGG&G club met at the home
of Mrs I. O. Wood with Mrs. Elsie
Cork as hostess. Mrs. Held will
move to Norfolk the first of No
vember. Mrs. Frieda Asher held
high score; Mrs. Alta Finch, low.
and Mrs. I. O Wood received the
traveling award.
Mrs L. F. Knudsen returned
Monday evening from Denver,.
Colo., where she visited her broth
er-in-law and sister, Mr and Mrs
Max Gunnerson, and family. Her
mother, Mrs. Nick Schrum, who
was a guest there, accompanied
Mrs. Knudsen home.
Mesdames Carrie and Dora
Townsend, Evelyn Gray, Ray
Snell and Mr. and Mrs. Anton Nis
sen went to Ewing Tuesday eve
ning where they attended the fam
ily slipper of the Eastern Star.
Mr and Mrs. Clarence Stevens
hosted the Thursday evening EMC
card club members.
Mr. and Mrs. Osw'ald Goldfuss
and Mrs. Gene Goldfuss and
daughter, Debra, went to Cedar |
Falls, la., Saturday to bring Gene
and Johnny Goldfuss home fol- j
lowing an accident. Their truck
was damaged on the soft shoulder
of a highway.
Mrs Fred Karstens of Lodge
Pole accompanied Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Weible of Dalton to the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Riege for
the weekend. Mrs. Karstens is
Mrs. Riege’s mother and Mr and
Mrs. Weible are her uncle and
aunt. ,

went to Orchard Tuesday, October
14, wrhere they assisted with the
serving of 135 dinner guests at
the Lutheran church for a zone
rally. Rev. Erick Prange of Eagle
was guest speaker. He has spent
26 years in Southern India.

Tuttle. Mrs. Kermit Jefferies re
ceived the traveling prize.
