Ewing WSCS to Note Anniversary Today EWING The Women's Society of Christian Service will celebrate the anniversary or the society to day (Thursday). There will he a six o'clock covered dish dinni r. Each member will give 50 cents as a gift which wiii l>e used to purchase articles for the kitchen. "Crown Thy Good with Broth erhood" was the theme of the de votions in charge of Mrs. Jessie Angus and the lesson presented by Mrs. Sis Ebbengaard when the group met Wednesday after noon, October 1, at the parlors of First Methodist church. Mrs James Tinlsey, president, presid ed at the business session. The year books were given each member. The election day dinner No vember 4 was discussed. Plans were completed and committees appointed Mrs. Tinsley and Mrs. Willis Hockey were appointed as a com mittee to assist with the r< cep tion for the teachers of the Ew ing public school held last Thurs day at the school auditorium. Mrs. Henry Fleming, secretary of promotion, read the- quadren nial goals of the society and also presented other articles of in terest. Mrs. L. A Hobbs, secre tary of missionary education, read an article on "Methodism in Red China.” Mrs l^e Brigden, secretary of youth, announced that the MYF had a mem!>ership of 20 boys and girls in Ewing. They have start ed the study of the Bible and m<H*t each Monday evening of the nUMrs. J. L. Pruden told of her visit to the Mother Jewel s home at York. She also explained how it is possible for a society to "adopt" a child. Mrs. Willis Rockey, a teacher in the primary department of the Sunday school, requested names of prekindergarten children. Food for the silent auction was donated by Mrs. L A. Hobbs_ Monday. October 13. was set as the date for the study cluh to meet at the church parlors. Twenty-two members and fout guests, Mrs Dewitt Gunter Mrs Robert Pruden, Elisabeth Eggle ston and Miss Virginia .9la k„',! Stanton, were present. Mrs. Ben Larsen and Mrs. Pruden were luncheon hostesses. Halloween decorations and bouquets of fall flowers were used in table dec orations. Combined Band to March Friday The O’Neill high and St. Mar\’s combined bombs will march Friday night. October 10. at the O’Neill-Ainsworth football game, which will be played at Carnev park in O'Neill. The* Parent-Teachers’ associa tion held its first meeting of the school year Monday night, Octo ber G, at the public school. The half holidays that the grade school children have beer receiving in the past for not be ing absent or tardy for six con secutive weeks will no longer be offered at O’Neill public school This week, being the last weel of the first six weeks of school is being concluded with the usua six weeks tests A PTA meeting was held a Long Pine at 2 p m. Schoenle-Graham [Marriage Lines Read Saturday Yellow and bronze poms graced the altars of St. Patrick's Catholic church for the wedding of Miss Mary Jean Schoenle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Schoenle of O'Neill, and Richard Allen Gra ham, son of Mr and Mrs. Harry Graham of O'Neill. Very Rev. Timothy O’Sullivan \ performed the double-ring cere mony at 10 a.m. Saturday. Octo ber 4, followed by a nuptial mass. Acolytes were Donald Schoenle, a brother of the bride, and 1 tonaltl I Hosn. Escorted to the altar by her j father, the bride appeared in a ballerina length gown of Chantilly lace and net over taffeta. The gown, styled on princess lines, fea tured a scalloped sabrina neckline | accented with iridescent sequins and tiny pearls. Long sleeves tapered to points at the wrists. Her illusion fingertip veil was held in place by a madonna crown with sequins and tiny pearls. She wore small pear! earrings She carried a white prayer book topped with white chrysanthemums and a re movable corsage. Her prayerbook was a gift of the bridegroom. Miss Carlene Schoenle of Kans as City, Kans., was maid-of-honor 1 for her sister Bridesmaids were the Misses Kathryn McCarthy and Mary Helen Benze, a cousin of the bride. They were dressed identically in ballerina length em erald green gowns with velvet bodices featuring v necklines and three quarter-length sleeves. The full gathered skirts of chiffon were worn over taffeta. They wore matching velvet headbands and transparent shoes with glass heels. They carried cascades of yellow poms wjth yellow ribbon and wore a single rhinestone : heart suspended from a silver j chain. The bestman was Harold Duane Weier of Omaha. Groomsmen I were Donald Graham of Omaha. ! brother of the bridegroom, and Thomas Langan. Ushers were 1 Edward Graham of Omaha, a 1 brother of the bridegroom, David Maughan of Tilden and Duane > Linden berg of Valentine, both brothers-in-law of the bridegroom. They w’ore dark blue business suits and white carnation bouton nieres. Mrs. Schoenle, the bride s moth red in a grey suit trim med with fur, matching hat anct electric blue shoes and purse. She wore silver jewelry and a pink carnation corsage. Mrs. Graham, the bridegroom’s mother, appear i ed in a grey sheer w'ool dress with black accessories. She wore i a pink carnation corsage Mrs Garrett D. Janzing, the bride’s grandmother, wore a black dress with matching acces sories. Her corsage was of white carnations. Miss Ellen Havranek accom panied Miss Rita Jilg of Kansas City Kans., who sang "Ava Maria", "Panis Angelicus" and "O Mother. At Thy Feet is Kneel ing". A dinner at the Town House for 35 memtiers of the immediate fam ilies followed. A reception from 1 l until 4 p.m. was held at the Town House. The four-tier wedding cake was cut and served by Mrs. Henry Benze, an aunt of the bride. Miss Donna Payne had charge of the guestbook. Mrs. Ken Huston had charge of the gifts Miss Joanne Lansworth poured. Helping sene were the Misses Teresa Boyle, Marie Boyle, Joanne Soukup, Rita Hoehne and Ellen Donohoe. For her wedding trip to the Black Hills, Mrs. Graham wore a i brown suit with matching purse and shoes. She wore a beige feath I ered hat and gold jewelry. Mrs. Graham is a graduate of ■ St. Mary’s academy and w’as em ployed in the office of The Front ier Mr. Graham, who served one and one half years in Germany ,; with the army, was graduated c from St. Mary's academy and at tended Wayne State college.
