of perfect attendance were Rob
ert Pruden, Leigh Ann Pruden and
Randall Rockey in the primary de
partment In the intermediate and
junior groups were Myra Pruden,
Larry Tuttle and Karen Tuttle, and
Mrs Jessie Angus of the
adult class. .
Miss Anna VanZandt, also a
member of the adult class who
had perfect attendance for the
year until her accident of two
weeks ago.
Over 700 Dinners
Served at
EWING- The Christian Mothers
of St Peter's Catholic church ser
ved over 700 guests at their an
nual turkey dinner held Sunday at
St. Dominic's hall. Hours were
serving were from, 5 to 8 p.m.
Mrs. Ralph Munn, president of
the society, was assisted by mem
bers of the group. The young mar
ried ladies and the girls of the
parish were waitresses. Men and
boys of the parish were in charge
of the outdoor concessions and
games.
R H. Shain was the winner in
the blanket contest.
Other entertainment was a
dance with the Eddie Stan band
furnishing the music.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schaaf
were Sunday evening supper
guests at the Wilford Kaup home
at Stuart.
Mrs. Agnes Gaffney left on Sat
urday 1t> visit her niece, Mrs.
George Jacobsen in South Dakota.
From there she will go to Iowa to
visit the Albia and Charles Keene
families.
Mrs. Lyle Fox was a Thursday
and Friday overnight guest of the
Gilbert Foxes. On Friday ' after
noon Mrs. Lyle Fox and Mrs. Gil
bert Fox had coffee with Miss j
Hilda Deseive at Atkinson and1
also visited Mrs. Jay McConnell
and son at the hospital there.
Mrs. Bessie Burge, Harold and
June visited at the Clyde Burges
at Amelia last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. G. O. Cole went to
Omaha on Monday and returned
on Wednesday. While in Omaha
they visited Mr. and Mrs. Hugh
McKenna and Mr. and Mrs. John
Baker.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fox and
Carol were Saturday evening sup
per guests of the Wayne Foxes.
Mrs. Elmer Adler's mother and
sister Mrs. Carl Boelter of Orch-.
ard and Mrs. Elmer Kocina of
Verdigre, visited her on Tuesday.
Mrs. Charles Abart is visiting
in Portland, Ore., to be with her
daughter. Luree (Mrs. A1 Henna
gin». The Hennegin’s have a new
baby daughter— born Saturday,
September 27.
Mrs. McGinnis called on Mrs.
Larry Schaffer and daughter and
also 'on Mrs. Grace Alder at St.
Anthony’s hospital on Saturday.

Golden Wedding
Sunday, September 28, Mr and

Columbus, celebrated their golden
wedding anniversary- at a family
celebration. Dinner followed at St.
Bonaventure hall after a 9 30 high
mass at St. Bonaventure Catholic
church. Two members of the orig*
inal w-edding party, Mrs. J. O.
Moeller of Leigh, a sister of Mr6.
Bums, and Ed Bums, a brother
of Mr. Burns, were present for the
festivities.
A gold and white color scheme
was carried out including a yellow
chrysanthemum centerpiece top
ped with a gold 50, tapers trim
med in gold and a small anniver
sary cake topped with a gold 50,
which was baked by a daughter,

Mrs. Bums, the former Kathryn
i Fallon, a daughter erf John and
I Mary Fallon, was born and edu
rated in O'Neill. She was a dress
maker and m 190€ moved to
Platte Center where she operated
a dressmaking and millinery shoj
until the time of her majTUige
They lived at PLatte Center fol
lowing thetr marriage until 1935
when they moved to Columbus.
Mr. Bums, the son of Martin
and Marv Bums, was bom at
Platte Center He was educated
there and attended college in Oma
ha and Cblumbus. He was associa
ted with several general merchan
dise stores and was clerk at the
postofice at Platte Center before
moving to Columbus. He is now
storekeeper for the Ixaip River
Public Power district.
They are the parents of five
