Amelia News Mr and Mrs Glenn White, Myrtle and Venita, and Mr. and S C Barnett were supper guests Tuesday evening, .September 8 at Mrs. Edith Andersen home Mrs Elmer Coolidge and Mrs Delia Ernst were O'Neill callers Tuesday, September 9 Mrs Cool idge attended the council meeting of fire extension clubs. Friday Mrs. Coolidge accompanied Mrs. Kath ryn India, tiie home extension agent, and other club members to Norfolk to attend another meeting. Albert J>eonard of Wichita, Kans.. came Monday, September 8. and visited a few days with his sister and brother-indaw, Mr and Mrs Arthur Hiatt and family. Miss Phillis Fullerton, who is a freshman at Wayne State Teach ers eollegd, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Fullerton. Mrs, Dick Porter entertained at a tupperware party Thursday evening. There were 12 ladies present Miss Caroline Backhaus was the dealer, Mrs. Porter serv ed lunch. Mr and Mrs. S. C. Barnett stayed at the Glenn White ranch to do chores while the Whites took their daughter, Myrtle, to Green ville, 111 , where she entered her junior year in the college there. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Cuddy who were married Monday morning at the Catholic church in O’Neill, gave a wedding dance at the Ame lia hall that evening. Mrs. Cuddy is the former Viona Burgett of Amelia. They will make their home in Minneapolis, Minn Itev. and Mrs. Charles Cox and little granddaughter of Chambers, Mr. and Mrs. Ix>w Backhaus and Mr. and Mrs. Earnie Johnston Mrs Edith Andersen’s. Mrs Stella Sparks and Lonnie, Mrs. Gertie Adair, Mrs. Edith Andersen and Mrs. Delia Ernst went to Spencer Monday after noon to consult an eye doctor. Flor ence Lindsey took care of the switchboard and Mrs. Rees oper ated the cream station while they were away. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Edwards attended a surprise birthday an niversary party Thursday evening for Mrs. Edwards' sister, Mrs. Charles McMillen, at her home in Atkinson. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fisher left Monday morning to visit their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs Lynn Meyers, at Seattle, Wash. Clayton Burge is doing . chores at Paul Fishers while they are away. Pvt. Hale Kennedy and Pvt. Dale Doolittle came Saturday morning from Ft. Sill, Okla., to visit their parents, the M. B. Ken_ nedy and Art Doolittle families. They returned to camp Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Oetter, Lana and Janeth visited at Bus Gilman’s Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Duncan of Norfolk visited the September 6-7 weekend at the Elmer Oetter home. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Doolittle and Clinton and Mr. and Mrs. Art Doo little and Pfc. Dale Doolittle were dinner guests Sunday at tiemic Kennedys Mr. and Mrs. George Fullerton were supper guests Friday even ing of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Werner at Chambers. Mr. and Mrs. Heinie Frahm and family and Mrs. Maude Forbes visited at the home of Mrs. Frahm s sister and brother-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Briggs, and family at Rose. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Thompson and Barbara were supper guests Saturday evening in Atkinson at the home of Stanley’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Thompson. The occasion was in honor of Stan ley’s birthday anniversary. Don Peterson went to Casper, Wyo., Thursday to attend college. He will stay with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Sy brant. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Adams and Don, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Walters of Chambers went to Broken Bow Sunday to attend a meeting of star route mail car riers. » Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pierce were O'Neill callers Tuesday, Sep tember 8. Mrs Julia White writes that she will soon be at her home in Atkinson after spending several weeks traveling with her daugh ter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs. Frank Braddock. She visited in Omaha with her son, Ray White, and family and at York with other relatives.
