came ill at his home in Ewing
and was taken to St. Anthony hos
ptal in O’Neill. He was visited

Vandersnick They also went to
Stuart to visit Mrs. John Vander
snick, who is being cared for at
a rest home there. . . Alfred Doud
was a patient Friday at Antelope
Memorial hospital and had an in
fected finger cared for. . . "Butch”
Cloyd, fullback on the Ewing Ti
ger football team, was injured in
Friday evening's game at Bas
sett He was taken to O'Neill Sat
urday by Coach Thomas Hutton.
After several X-rays, the doctors
rsaid his wrist was badly sprained
and would keep him out of the
games for a few weeks. Donald
Wright, another Ewing player,
suffered a broken arm during
practice last week. . . Ben Larsen
is a patient at Antelope Memorial
hospital at Neligh. He is resting
comfortably. Mrs. Larsen spends
much of the time with him. . .
George DeBilzan, who had the
misfortune to fall and break his
leg, is a patient at the Veterans
hospital in Grand Island. . . Mrs.
Andrew Olson, who submitted to
surgery recently at Antelope Me
morial hospital in Neligh, suffer
ed a blood clot and has been crit
ically ill as the result. Mr. Olson
and members of the family spend
much time with her. . . Mrs. Her
man Schroeder shows some im
provement at the Neligh hospital.
She is visited often by members of
her family.
O'NEILL—Mrs. Louis Zastrow,
the former Jean Biglin, suffered
a slight stroke Saturday and was
taken to the hospital here. . . Mrs.
Helen Sullivan left Tuesday for
St. Vincent s hospital at Sioux

Anderson took his wife to a Nor
folk hospital Monday. . . Homer

ATKINSON — Stanley V. John
son returned home Monday from
Omaha after having been hospi
talized a week for spinal surgery.
He convalesced in Omaha for a
month following the surgery at
Methodist hospital. A disc weigh
ing 11 grams was removed from
his back.

and Veldon returned home Sunday
1 evening after convalescing at the

who homesteaded near Brewster
i n 1916, accompanied Mrs.
Georgia McGinnis on her annual
trip to Brewster last w'eek. They
met many old friends.

Charlie Tasler of Atkinson, re
turned Monday, September 8.

the plumbing so that water is
available in the dining room.
