Dies in California
EWING Mrs. Zoe Bethea Jill- ‘
son died at her home in Stockton, I
Calif., Tuesday, July 1. She had j
suffered a heart ailment.
She was the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. William Bethea and liv
ed in and near Ewing until her
marriage to Ira Jillson, a former
resident of Stuart
Survivors include: Widower—
Ira; sons—Robert (“Bob") of
Stockton, Calif., and "Bud” of
Glendora, Calif.; daughter—Mrs.
June Tremaine of Atwater, Calif.;
sister—Mrs. Florence Whitmore
of Atwater, Calif., and Mrs. Alleen
Johnson of Tulare, Calif.; broth
er—Frank Bethea of Pasedena,
Calif.; three grandsons, aunts— j
Mrs. Joe (Sara) Kay and Mrs,
Frank (Alice) Maxwell, both of

News of Mrs. Jillson’s death I
was forwarded to Ewing by Mrs.
Kay, who was a longtime resi
dent here.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ott of Las
Vegas, Nev., honored Mr. and
Mrs. Francis Curran on. their 19th
wedding anniversary last Thurs
day evening at the Bert Ott home.
Other dinner guests were Virgil
Ott of Baldwin Park, Calif., and
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Ott and child
ren. Mr. and Mrs. Curran drove
the Bob Otts and Virgil Ott to j
Grand Island Sunday where they
left for their respective homes.
Mrs. rhilbrick Surprised—
Last Thursday a group of neigh
bors surprised Mrs. Dwayne Phil
brick at her home to honor her
birthday anniversary. The hos
tesses were Mmes. Herbert Gyde
sen Joe Sivesind, Carrol McKay
and Fred Jones. Other visitors
that day were Mrs. V. J. Tielke
and children of Atkinson and Mrs.
Dale Perry.
The graduating class of 1923
from the Ewing high school is
planning a reunion Sunday eve
ning, July 20, to be held at the
country home of Mr. and Mrs.
Dewitt Hoke. There will be a
picnic supper on the lawn.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Young
and family returned at their
home in Ravenna after spending
a week at the home of her mother ;
Mrs. Austin Hynes. They also vis
ited other relatives. _
