ORDINANCE WTLL BE EN
FORCED IMMEDIATELY:

ANOTHER AFTER CERTAIN
HOURS, EXCEPTIONS
It is hereby declared unlaw
ful for any person under seven
teen (17) years of age or still in
high school to be or remain in or
upon any of the streets, alleys,
vacant lots or property of anoth
er or public places in this Village
at night after the hour of 9*30
P. M nightly except Saturday at
10:30 P M. unless such person
is accompanied by parent, guard
ian or other person having legal
custody of such minor person, or
is going to or from some meet
ing or assemblage of lawful char
acter, or is in the performance of
an errand of duty, directed by
parent, guardian or other per
son having the legal custody of
such minor person, or whose em
ployment makes it necessary to
be upon the streets, alleys or
public places during the night
time after said specified hours:
Provided, that this exception shall
not apply when persons under
seventeen (17) years shall play
or loiter unnecessarily in or up
on such street, alley, vacant lot,
property of another or public
place, whether alone or accom
panied by parent, guardian, per
son or persons whomsoever. No
minor shall play or loiter in any
strtet, alley or public place in
this Village at any time to the in
convenience of the ordinary
traffic over and upon such streets,
alleys or public places. Violation
will lie considered a misdemean
or and will be dealt with accord
ingly. The time when minors
shall disperse from the streets
may be indicated, if ordered by
the Board of Trustees, by some
siren, whistle or other appropriate
signal.

New School Gels
Okay from Voters
DEIDIT—At the annual meet
ing of the patrons of the St. John’s
school at Doloit, it was voted to
erect a modem new school build
ing.
It was decided to have the
building ready for occupancy Sep
tember 1 when the 1958-'59 term
begins.

Brittell Rites
Held at Vancouver
CHAMBERS — Funeral serv
ices for Mrs. Marguerite Grimes
Brittell. 65, were conducted at the
Vancouver, Wash., funeral chapel
at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 11,
j with Rev. T. Earl Poindexter of
the Salmaon Creek Methodist
church officiating.
Organ prelude and postlude
were played by Mrs. Florine Du
Fresne. Special songs for the ser
vices were "Good Night and Good
Morning”, "Whispering Hope”,
and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus”.
Dan Snively, soloist, sang "be
; yond the Sunset” and "Abide
With Me”.
Pallbearers were Messers Albert
Ost, Vincent Baker, Charles Sch
erer, Harry Roelfs, Sid Sutter
field, Edward Reeves.
The members of the Hazel Dell
grange attended the services in a
body and were in charge of the
committal services at the grave.
R. O. Archer, master of Hazel
Dell grange, officiated and Mrs.
Pearl Payne, chaplain, read the
scripture.
Vault interment was in Park
Hill cemetery, Vancouver.
Marguerite Grimes Brittell,
daughter of Jerome D. and Sarah
, Ellen tKinkaid* Grimes, was
bom June 12, 1892. in Kanakee
county. 111., and died at her home
Sunday. June 8.
She was married to Robert N.
Brittell June 12, 1911 at Chambers
To this union were bom three
1 daughters and one son.
She came to the Chambers
| community with her parents in
j the spring of 1893 and resided
there until her marriage, then go
[ ing to reside in O’Neill living
there and in surrounding commun
| ities until the fall of 1943 when the
: family moved to Portland. After
the termination of the war the
family moved to the Hazel Dell
community, north of Vancouver,
where they resided for the past 12
years, operating the Idie wild Mo
tel.
Mrs. Brittell united with the
Methodist church when a young
girl and was a member of the
Methodist church in O’Neill and
the Salmon Creek Methodist aux
iliary.
She was prominent in local
grange affairs, was a member of
the National Grange, chaplain of
the Pomona grange and elected
master of the Hazel Dell grange.
Survivors include: Widower
Robert; son—John David of Port
land; daughters—Mrs. Roberta
Spindler of Vancouver; Mrs. Mar
jory Hamilton of Monmouth, 111.,
Mrs Muriel Carll of Long Beach,
Calif., brothers — Gleason and
James Grimes, both of Chambers,
and Jay Grimes of Dougles, Wyo.;
10 grandchildren — Jo Ellen and
i Robert Hamilton and Mrs. Janet
j Zea of Monmouth, HI.; Larry,
Keith, and Roberta Patricia Spind
| ier of Vancouver. Wash.; Judy Ann
! and Kenneth David Brittell of
I Portland, Ore.; and Michael and
Donna Ilene Carll of Long Beach,
j Calif.
She was preceded in death by
her father and mother and by three
brothers, Howard o f Spokane.
[Wash., Clarence of Cashmere,
Wash., and Clair of Chambers;
also by one sister, Elmyra.
Relatives from away attending
were: Mrs. D. J. Carll from Long
Beach, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs
Jot' Hamilton from Monmouth, 111.
