the new officers for 1958-'59 in the
worship service Sunday morning,
June 15.

ed to organize the rummage sale
to be held Thursday, to Saturday,
June 26-27-28, downtown.
Officers training day will be ob
served June 26 from 1 until 4 p.m.
at the church. Mrs. Archie San

O’Neill, Page, rnman. Emmet,
Amelia, and Chambers receiving
instructions and suggestions how

ski of Minneapolis. Minn., and
Leonard Lorenz of Inman were
united in marriage Wednesday
June 11, at Minneapolis in a simple
ceremony.
Attendants were Miss Lorraine

the bride, and Melvin Lorenz of
Inman, brother of the bridegroom
The bride is a physiotherapist
and holds a University of Minne
1 sota degree in home economics.
Also in the wedding party was
I Larry Lorenz, 11, adopted son ol
; Mr. Lorenz. The boy has beer
making his home with his uncle
, and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin
I Lorenz, at Inman while his father
; has been attending the University
of Jacksonville in Florida.
Mr. Lorenz will transfer to the
University of Minnesota at Minnea
polls and continue his studies pre
paratory to becoming a teacher.
The couple met while Mr. Lor
enz being treated at the Vet
erans hospital at Minneapolis
after he had lost both arms in a
farm accident near Page. The
accident occured two years ago.
The couple will be joined by
Larry and the family will reside
at 2711 Upton Ave. North, Minnea
polis.

To Washington—
INMAN -Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Halstead left by train Sunday,
June 15 from Grand Island for
Washington state where they will
visit Mr. Halstead’s twin brother,
Fred and his family at Kennewick,
also cousins at Yakima.
They will also visit many other
points of interest.
They were taken by Hershal
Halstead, Shirley and Charlotte to
Grand Island.
They plan to make an extended
visit.

Miss Lynn McCarthy spent the
week of June 8th in Lincoln at
tending the 4-H club week award
ed her by the Omaha Chamber of
Commerce. The 4-H members,
numbering over 340, spent Friday,
June 13th, in Omaha where a ban
quet was given in their honor at
the stock exchange building that
evening. fourteen of this group
were presented with a "Certifi
cate of Merit” awarded by Mel
Hansen. Miss McCarthy was one
of the recipients.
Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs.
W. D Melena and Mrs. C. E. Me
lena were Mr and Mrs. Paul Hoff
man of Battle Creek, Mr. and
Mrs. Max Marshall of Verdigre
and Otto Kreycik of Niobrara.
Rev. and Mrs. Glenn Kennicott
left Monday for a vacation on the
West coast. Accompanying them
were his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Kennicott of Johnstown.
They will celebrate their golden
wedding anniversary at the home
of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. M,
H. Smith at Alhambra, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Austin and
sons of Sidney arrived Friday to
spend two weeks with her moth
er, Mrs. James Kelly, and his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Austin at Plainview.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Connors
and family of Greeley visited
from Saturday until Monday with
her mother, Mrs. M. J. Wallace,
and other relatives.

guests of Mrs. Frieda Asher. On

guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stew
art. They left Monday for their
home.
Mr. and Mrs. David Farnsworth
of Los Vegas, Nev., arrived Wed
nesday, June 11, for a visit with
his brother and sister-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. E. H. Farnsworth. The
two couples went to Norfolk Mon
day to visit Angus Palmer, an old
friend, who was taken to Omaha
Tuesday for hospitalization. Tues
day morning Mr. and Mrs. David
Farnsworth left for Omaha and
Lincoln where they will visit his
sisters, Miss Minnie Farnsworth
and Mrs. Salina Malmsten and
proceed to the Hot Springs in Ark.

York City where they will visit a
daughter and celebrate their gol
den wedding anniversary Aug
