Vacation School to Open for Lutherans Christ Lutheran church will con duct a vacation Bible school for a one week period beginning on Monday, June 16, at 9 p.m. The pastor. Rev. A. S. Gedwillo, stated that the school would meet each day from Monday through Friday. The morning sessions will begin at 9 a m., and the after noon sessions at 1 pm. The children who will not be able to go home for lunch should bring their own to the morning sessions. “Parents’ night” will be obser ved at 8 p.m., Friday, June 20, to give the parents an opportunity to review the new vacation Bible school scries “Let’s I^earn About God.” The children will present a program at the church, followed by a display of handcraft and j other projects made by the child ren. Attend Lutheran Meet at Ainsworth— ATKINSON—A number of peo ple from Atkinson attended the district convention of the Mis sionary league of the Emanuel Lutheran church held Sunday, June 8, at Ainsworth. This con vention is held every two years. The next meeting will be held in Omaha in 1960. Program chairman for the day was Mrs. Bryl Beck of Atkinson. Delegates from, the Atkinson Emanuel Lutheran church were Mrs. Robert Engler and Mrs. George Albright. This district includes churches from Omaha to Wyoming. There were over 500 people present. Nine ladies from the Atkinson church staged a skit, entitled "Lights Through the Years.” They sat around a table on which were placed a large number of articles such as a world globe, a cross, a Bible, a turning wheel, a miniature church, and a mini ature chapel for the deaf. Each lady in her turn read scripture verses and lighted a candle placed before the object. The nine ladies taking part were: Mrs. Dorothy Hoffman, Mrs. Irene Frickle, Mrs. Esther Syfie, Mrs. Pauline Beck, Mrs. Robert Eng lor Mrs. Emil Johnson, Mrs. George Albright, Mrs. Blain Gar wood and Mrs. Casper Harley. The main speaker of the day was Rev. Erwin Spruth, a fur loughed missionary from New Guinea. After the services, a silver tea was served to the visitors.
