PAGE Duran and Homer Ruth erford went to Omaha Sunday to visit their brother, Harvey, who is a patient at Clinton hospital at Benson. He suffered a heart attack Thursday, May 22, and is on the critical list. His home address is 2416 N. 52nd st-, Oma ha. . . Carl Max joined the ranks of the mump victims. . - Little Miss Janie Anson has added mea sles to her chicken pox and mump illnesses. Her brother, Jimmie, also had the measles. . . Teri Ickes has chickenpox. DELOTT - John Sehl was able to return home last week from the Neligh hospital. . . Mrs. Clint Taylor was a patient at Antelope Memorial hospital in Neligh last week. . . Mr. and Mrs Lambert Bartak visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bartak Sunday in West Point. Mrs. Carl Bartak is convalescing following her recent operation which took place in an Omaha hospital. . . Carl Thiele was a patient last week in the Neligh hospital. His condition is “good”. EWING Mr. and Mrs L. A. Hobbs took his father, Peter Roudybush, to Omaha Wednesday, May 21, where he submitted to surgery the following day. Little JoAnn Edwards had her tonsils removed Thursday at Antelope Memorial hospital. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard Edwards. Mrs. R. B. Kra chie is a patient at Antelope Me morial hospital, Neligh, and is expected home soon. INMAN — Mrs George P. Col man returned Monday afternoon after spending a week in Antelope Memorial hospital at Neligh as a medical patient. . Lewis Kope ky is still confined to the Neigh hosptal as a medical patient but his condition is “improved”. Mrs. R. B. South entered the Ne ligh hospital this week as a med ical patient. Blattert of Stanton and Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Miller of Norfolk. They celebrat ed Clinton Miller's 11th birthday anniversary. E, L. J5rigden of ficiated at the double ring cere mony at First Methodist church in Ewing. Mrs. Wilbur Spangler played a prelude of wedding selections. So loists were the bride, who sang "Because”, Miss Deanna Schel lenbery of McCook, who sang "My Promise" and Dana Sisson, who sang The lord's Prayer". Kerry Fuller of Grand Island, a nephew of the bride, played the wedding march. The bride, given in marriage by her father, appeared in a floor length gown of crystallette over satin. The fitted bodice of lace featured a scalloped neckline with a V in the back, long taper ed sleeves, button trimmed. The full circular skirt was appliqued with a matching lace Ixxlice. The fingertip veil of French chantilly was held in place by a pearl ti ara. She wore a necklace of I>carls. She carried a removable red rose corsage in a bouquet of lillies of the valley on a wrhite Bible. Miss Joan Fleming of York was maid-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Gene Ruby, a sister of the bride, and Mrs. Victor Ahrens of York, a sister of the bridegroom. They wore green streetlength erystallette gowns over taffeta with matching headpieces of net. They carried bouquets of sweet peas of assorted colors. The flowergirls, Mary Lynn Eacker and Roxanne Ruby, nieces of the bride, wore green taffeta. Ringbearers were Terry and Debbie Ahrens, a nephew and niece of the bridegroom. Candlelighters were Gary Eack er of Ewing and Jerry Fuller of | Grand Island, nephews of the bride. Burton Norquest was the l>est man. Other attendants were Vic tor Ahrens of York, a brother-in law of the bridegroom, and Gene Ruby, who also ushered. They wore dark trousers with white dinner jackets. Their bouton nieres were red carnations. The fathers of the couple had white carnation boutonnierres. The bride’s mother chose a navy gown with white accessories. The bridegroom’s mother wore a light blue dress with white accessories. Their corsages were white sweet peas centered with red roses. A reception was held in the church parlors for 160 guests. The bride's colors, green and white, was the theme of the dec orations. The three-tier wedding cake, topped by a miniature bride and bridegroom, flanked by lighted candles, centered the refreshment table. The bride’s table was cen tered with a bouquet of bridal wreath flanked by green candles in crystal holders. Mrs. Thomas Eacker and Mrs. Louis Vandersnick cut and served the cake. Mrs. James Hytrek of Stuart poured. Mrs. William Spence served the punch . The Misses Mary Alys Dierks and Bernadine Rotherham served the bride’s table. Mrs. Charles Wright was in charge of the gift book. Assisting with the gifts were Mrs. Bob Bar tak, Mrs. Louis Vandersnick, Miss Dierks and Miss Rotherham. Tak ing charge of the guest book was Mrs. Jerome Fuller of Grand Is land. For her trip, the bride chose a white cotton dress with white and black accessories. After a short wedding rtip, the couple will make their home in York. Mrs. Bredenkamp grew up in the Ewing community and grad uated from Ewing high school. She attended the University of Nebraska and the past year has been teaching in Louisville. Mr. Bredenkamp is a graduate of York high school. He served two years in the US army, a por tion overseas. He received his spearation in February, 1958. He is a welder with the General Welding service at York. Guests were from Broken Bow, Grand Island, McCook, York, Norfolk, O’Neill, Stuart, Page, Clearwater, Lincoln, Omaha, Wa co, Bartlett and Louisville. O’NEILL LOCALS Mr. and Mrs. John Shoemaker returned Sunday from a week’s stay in Omaha visiting at the home of John Shoemaker, jr. Thursday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mlinar were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Mlinar of Atkinson. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Morrow spent the weekend in Ewing visit ing Mr. and Mrs. John Bauers. Misses Barbara and Beverly McCarthy of Columbus arrived Friday morning to attend St. Mary's graduation exercises. Lynn and Kay, their sisters, were graduating. Beverly returned to Omaha Saturday, May 24. Barbara returned Sunday, and Edward returned to Columbus on Friday, May 23. Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Zak rzewski, Mrs. Elizabeth Venteich er and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Zak rzewski and family were in Or chard Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Fox and to cele brate the birthday anniversaries of Mr. Fox and little Johnny, who was eight-years-old. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rubeck, Mrs. Milford Coates and children and Miss Kathy Rubeck went to Wakefield Friday evening, May 23 to attend the graduation of the Rubeck’s granddaughter, Miss Ivalyn Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Price ac companied by John Nachtman went to Hastings Sunday to meet and visit their son, Delmar, and family, also Mr. and Mrs Ed Mock. While there, they attended the Lions club state talent contest in which Duane and Bonnie Marie Price, children of the Delmar Prices, gave a song and tap dance number in the intermediate divis ion. The Russell Bredenkamps . . . their wedding was solemnized Sunday, May 25, in First Methodist church at Ewing.—O’Neill Photo. 50 Present for Rural Youth Banquet The annual rural youth banquet was held at the Town House Thursday, May 22. There were about 50 members and guests present. The dinner was served family style with fried chicken being featured on the menu. John Orr, assistant state leader of young men and women, from the college of agriculture, was guest speaker. He told the mem bers that the rural youth program is one of the keys in keeping young men and women in smaller towns and keeping them satisfied to stay there. lie also said the rural youth organization has a great potential if everyone will get be hind the organization and push. Mr. and Mrs. Walt Fick of Inman were honored with the Adult Award for their outstanding service to the community, and cooperation with youth and other activities. Harold Coburn was also honored at the banquet when he was given the WNAX rural youth award. Harold was also recognized as being rated second in the entire state as an outstand ing rural youth member. Dennis Scheer played several selections on his piano accordian, and Fred Salak played his guitar and sang a number of songs. After the banquet, members wit nessed an outstanding color movie on the unusual phenomenon of plants and microscopic animals. Arrive for Visit— Mr. and Mrs. Pat Gallup and girls of Stratford, Olka., arrived Satuday to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Weyhrich. Arrive from Spain T/Sgt. and Mrs. Fred L Summers and sons, who have just completed an assignment at the San Pablo air force base near Seville, Spain, arrived in O'Neill Wednesday, May 7, for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Summers, and with other relatives and friends. Hibbs Receives Steno Certificate STAR Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hibbs, jr., and sons were dinner guests Sunday, May 25, of their daughter, Miss Kay, of Norfolk In the afternoon they attended baccalaureate services of Nor folk Junior college. Kay will graduate this week from the col lege with a stenographic certifi cate. After graduation she will have employment with the Felgar Insurance agency of Norfolk. Farmerette* to Meet Next Tune It — The Grattan Farmerettes ex tension club met at the home of Mrs. Boyd Boelter Wednesday, May 21. Fifteen members and two guests were' present. The lesson on small electrical appliances was presented by Mrs. Anson Closson and Lillian Hibbs. The jiffy bread recipes were passed out to the members.
