Rites Held Friday
LYNCH — The Altar society of
Assumption BVM church met at
the rectory with Mrs. Anton Was
atko, Mrs. Albert and George
Kalkowski as hostesses
Prayer was led by Rev. Char
les Kamber. Rosary captains
wen* named for May. Mrs. Weed
er reported on the "Mass Said
for the Dead."
Mrs Albert Kalkowski gave a
report on the NC3CW board meet
ing which was held at Winnebago
April 27.
The Fay Courtney funeral din
ner was planned. Then all the
ladies went to the Jones funeral
home and recited the rosary.
The society served relatives of
the late Mr. Courtney and close
friends following Friduy's funeral
held here.

Johnnie, of Gross visited her sis
ter, Mrs. Nata Bjomsen, Friday,

returned home Sunday, April 27,

Large Crowd Hears
Initial Concert
LYNCH—A large crowd at
tended the first concert of the
year held by Lynch public school
students Friday evening.
The program was in three j
parts.
In the first portion, the entire
band played “The Musketeers”,
march; “Blue Moon”, waltz; and
“Friendship”, march.
The second portion consisted of j
two songs by the girls’ glee club,
a trombone novelty, two songs j
by the fifth and sixth graders and j
a saxaphone solo.
The third portion included
“Rough Riders”, march, by the
band; “Wave of Danube”, waltz;
"Ecstasy Tone Poem” and “The
Minstrel Overture”.
Proceeds went to the band
fund at the school.

souri-synod) is a branch of the
holy ministry', according to Dr
Martin J. Maehr, director of
placement at the college. A call
to serve a parish school is re
garded not as a contract in the
ordinary sense but a solemn
agreement to be annulled only by
transfer, by removal for cause or
by death.

Agency, spent Wednesday, April
30, in Norfolk when all agents of
the Farmers Mutual Insurance
company of Nebraska spent the
day reviewing the new blanket

ka.
The company has 365 agents in
