Mr. and Mrs. Donald Prill and children of the Star community were Sunday visitors in the Lloyd Gleed home. Vonnie Schmidt was a weekend guest of Joyce Mikkelson. A minor car accident occured on the streets of Chambers during the snowstorm Wednesday eve I ning, April 23, when Gerald Ed wards, driver of one car, collided with a car driven by Ed Smith. Mr. Smith received a broken rib. The American Legion post met Friday evening at the Legion hall. Plans for memorial day and other business were discussed. The Chambers high senior class returned Sunday evening from their sneak day which took them to Denver, Colo. They left here Thursday morning. Mr. and Mrs. L V. Cooper went to Grand Island Thursday where she attended a three-day conven tion of postmasters. They visited Mr. and Mrs Dave Holcomb for mer Chambers people, at Eldor ado before returning Sunday. A leader’s training meeting on "use and care of small applian ces” was held at the home of Mrs. Frank Tracy Friday, April 25. Eight ladies were present. Attending an adult rally in Page Sunday from Chambers ; were Mr. and Mrs. LaVeme Hoerle, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Green and Rev. and Mrs. Harold Bonath. - - tteorge l avunml Dies in Canada— George Caywood, who suffered a fractured hip in a fall about a month ago, has died in an Edmin j ton, Alt., Can., hospital, accord ing to word received Monday by Mr and Mrs. Roy Lowery. Mr. Caywood was a brother of Charley Caywood and Mrs. Low ery. He had visited O’Neill on num erous occasions. Hugh (Genet Carr, who is station ed at Ft. Campbell, Ky . and is a member of the 101st airborne di vision. He reported he was "okay" and was not scheduled to make a jump on the day a unit of para troopers encuntered trouble and live boys lost their lives. One hundred thirty-five troopers were inured. Ko peeky, president, was in charge. Mrs. Alliert Anthony w a s in charge of the lesson on missions. Seven children’s dresses, repre senting different countries in need of missionary help, were exhibi ted. Mrs. Anthony told of the need in each land. The women then placed their mite Ixi.x in a treasure chest and over $50 was realized for foreign missions. Gayiene Anthony played a piano selection.
