Graduate First Class
LYNCH Maynard Londberg, a
missionary at Unalakleet, Alaska,
writes members of the Londberg
family in a "round-robin" letter
stating the spring has been "un
usually warm" with the mercury
in the thirties for several weeks.
He declares that the mission
work, in which his wife is also act
ive. keeps them very busy .
They have a mission school,
children's home and hav e recently
installed a broadcasting station
in Nome. Alaska. The high school
the Lind berg's started four years
ago w ill graduate the first class of
seniors this spring.
Mrs. Londberg (caches health
in high school and teaches music
to a dozen students. She also
assists in nursing especially when
the village nurse is called to visit
other population centers. At the
time the letter was written, a
number of native missionary pas
tors were planning a conference
to outline next year’s work.
The Londbergs have four child
ren, who enjoy sleigh riding with
picnic lunches.
He writes, "It doesn't seem to
bother the chldren to sit on a
cake of ice and eat picnic lunch."
Maynard is remembered as the
youngest son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Peter Londberg. He attend
ed the Pleasant View rural school
north of Lynch and graduated
from the Bristow high school

guided missile electronic mater
ial maintenance course at the
army air defense school at Ft.
Bliss, Tex.
Sergeant Classen entered the
army in 1944. Among his decora
tions. he holds the bronze star
medal and the combat infantry
man badge.
The sergeant, whose wife, Eva,
lives in El Paso, Tex., is a grad
uate of Spencer high school.
