to South America

Spain, Trinidad, BWI, were over
night guests Wednesday, April 9,
of the former’s mother, Mrs. Jud
Russel.
Mr. Lampshire has been em
polyed as a geologist in the
British W'est Indies and is en
route to Cochabamba, Bolivia,
S. A., where he will be employed
by Bolivia - California Petroleum
company.
Mr. Lampshire left Friday for
Wynne, Ark., where he was an
overnight guest of his brother
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Mc
Kenzie. He proceeded by plane
to his destination. He will rotate
a three- week work period in the
jungle with an equivalent period
of time at home.
Mrs. Lampshire is the former
Miss Dorothy Witte, who was
reared at the Mother Jewel home
at York under the supervision of
Supt. and Mrs. J. N. Smith who
spent 13 years in the mission
school at Cochabamba. The pres
ident of Bolivia was a pupil of
his.
Mrs. Lampshire is a graduate
of Nebraska Wesleyan university.
Her husband was graduated from
the University of Nebraska.
Mrs. Lampshire will follow
her husband to South America
as soon as he can make satisfac
tory housing arrangements.
The city, of Cochabamba has
an elevation of 9,000 feet above
sea level and has a population of
100,000 people with a great num
ber of residents from the United

bright fellowship grant to attend

American teachers of the classics
at the American academy, hi
Rome. She will leave for Italy
about June 21.
Miss Kiltz is a graduate of
Chambers high school and Wayne
State Teachers college and has a
master’s degree in education from
the University of Southern Cali
fornia .
At present she is chairman of
the Latin department in the Janes
ville senior high school.
