Amelia News The Helping Hand club meets today (Thursday) with Mrs Emma Lindsey. The Merry Matrons club will meet Thursday, March 20 with Mrs Blake Ott. Mrs. Stella Sparks will he the co-hostess. Mrs. Glenn White will present the lesson on sewing when the Amelia Progessive club meets Wednesday, March 19, at the home of Mrs Milton Clemens Mr. and Mrs George Fullerton drove to Grand Island Monday night taking Mr Fullerton’s sis ter, Mrs. Leslie Watts, there to board the train for her home at Moorcroft, Wyo. She had been visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs. Robert Fullerton of Atkinson. Mr. and Mrs Art Itoolittle were supper guests Wednesday evening at the home of their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Adams, Jerry and Diann. Mr. and Mrs Jim Bilstien and Pick. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Bal lagh Kenny, Dennis and Nancy were vistors at the Tommie Doo little, jr., home Saturday evening to help Mrs. Doolttle celebrate her birthday anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Adair and Allen, and Ms. Delia Ernst were dinner guests at the home of Mrs. Adair's parents, Mr. and Mrs Frank Peter near O’Neill Thurs day and later shopped in O'Neill. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Waldo, Bruce and L^irry were shopping in O’Neill Thursday and Mrs. Waldo and hoys visited her moth er. Mrs. Frank Searles. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bar nett of Greeley, Colo., came Thursday of last week and are visiting relatives at Amelia and Chambers. They visited his par ents, Mr. and Mrs S. C. Barnett in Amelia and her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ned Alderson at Oiam bers. Their daughters, Ardath and Connie, planned to come Tuesday by train if weather per mits. Their parents planned to meet them in Grand Island. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bligh of Omaha spent the weekend visit ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pierce. Art Waldman returned to his bome here Thursday after sever al weeks' visit with his sister and brother at Linclon. Mr. and Mrs. B. VV. Waido are expected to reach their home here this week after a visit since the middle part of Decmber with relatives in Colorado, Montana, California, Texas, Missouri and Nebraska. Don Adams was a weekend visitor with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rees were callers on the renter on their place near Burwell Thursday. Not finding the party at home, they drove on to Ericson where they located their party. George Fullerton has purchas ed the place known as the late Tom Salem place east of Amelia It makes a nice addition to their own place as it joins it. Mrs. Bob Adair, Jerry and Diann called on Mrs. Edgar Peterson Tuesday afternoon, March 4. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bar nett were supper guests at George Fullertons on Friday eve ning and at Harold Fullertons on Saturday evening. Mrs. Elsie Doolittle and sons, Jimmie, Dennie and Mickey of Stuart visited at the home of her son, Marvin Doolittle and family Sunday. Mr and Mrs. llienie Frahm, Patty, Douglas, Danny and Karen, and her mother, Mrs. Maude Forbes visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Briggs and family Wednesday, March 5, near Rose. Mrs. Forbes stayed with her daughter, Mrs. Briggs, for a longer visit. Dunk Peterson has been doing some carpenter work for Paul Briggs near Rose. He returned home Sunday. Mrs. Vern Sageser and Mrs. Low Backhaus went to O’Neill Thursday to attend the Bible study at the Methodist church. Mr and Mrs. S. C. Barnett and Mr. and Mrs. I-aw re nee Barnett visited at Glenn Whites Saturday. The farm sale of William David was quite well attended in spite of the inclement weather. Prices were quite satisfactory although the land did not sell. Mrs. Jackson Is Help U Hostess VENUS-Mrs. Vincent Jack son entertained the Help-U club at her home on Wednesday, March 5. Twelve members and two visitors, Mrs. Russell Ickler and Mrs Arden Laursen were, present. The hostess served din- j ner at noon. Dorsey News Mr. and Mrs. Lee Brady, sr., arrived home Wednesday, March 5. after having spent several weeks with their son and family in O’Neill. They had been home only a few hours when Carl Christensen of Minnesota came to spend a few days with them. He spent from Wednesday, March 5, to Sunday with the Bradys. The Dorsey Aid society met with Mrs. Faye Pinkenman on Wednesday, March 5. Not all the members were able to attend due to bad roads and sickness Mr. and Mrs. Bruce McElhan ey of Lincoln came to O'Neill on Wednesday evening, March 5, and Thursday Mrs. McElhaney came to visit her parents, the Harry Johnsons for a few days while her husband had dental work done. George Kubic and Mrs. Otto Ruzicka returned home trom Omaha Saturday, where they had been staying, so they would be close to the bedside of their mother who still is not able to be moved. They hope to be able to move her to Norfolk soon, so they don't have to stay away from home all the time and yet can call on her occassionally. The Dorsey telephone board and directors met at the Clayton Nelson home on Friday . Mrs. H V. Rosenkrans who had just gotten home from Minnesota, where she had been helping at her daughter’s home to care for the new granddaughters, is now in O'Neill the past week, visiting her sister, Miss Clara Aim, who hasn't been feeling to well the past few weeks.
