Mrs. Dewitt Hoke was in char ge of the entertainment of quiz zes and contests with the prizes going to th honored guest. A skit, "Problems of the Bride” by Miss Judy Cloyd, con cluded the program was followed by the opening of the grfts. Miss Cloyd had charge of the gift iKiok, and Miss Maryetta Peter son assisted withv opening the packages. Refreshments were served by the hostesses. Mrs. Earl Pier son, Mrs. Hoke, Mrs. H. R Harris, M r s. Irwin Cloyd and Judy, Mrs. J. L. Pruden, Mrs. L. A. Hobbs, Mrs. Arthur Sanders and Mrs. Waldo Davis. Modes of Travel Subject of Lesson EWING — The Women's Gen eral Missionary society of the United Presbyterian church met Thursday afternoon, February 21, at the home of Mrs. Leo Mil ler. A lesson of interest on modes of travel in the mission fields in the last one hundred years, was presented by Mrs. Richard Nap ier, assisted by Mrs. William Ross and Mrs. Lee Fink. Mrs. Z. H. Fry led in prayer. At the business session, plans were made for a luncheon on March 4, at the annex.. The guest speaker wil be Mrs. Horace Giffen of Omaha. Her theme will be “the Women in the United | Presbyterian Church”. Mrs. Giffen | was sent as a delegate to Pitts burg, Penn., to attend a meeting January 21-23, pertaining to the j Presbyterian churches. Lunch was served by the hos-1 tess to 16 members and one guest, Mrs. Eben Graft. Farewell Held for Montgomery Family EWING—A farewell party was held Thursday evening, February’ 21, at the annex of the United Presbyterian church in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Montgom ery and children. Games pro vided recreation for the fifty friends and relatives in attend ance. Slides were shown of Korea by Mr. Montgomery who had served in the army in this coun try. Lunch was served by the lad ies of the church. The Montgomery family will move March 1 to a farm which they have purchased in the Nel igh community. Cathy Edwards celebrated her sixth birthday anniversary this week. On Monday, February 24 in honor of the occasion her mother, Mrs. Richard Edwards entertained the girls of the kin dergarten at a party from 5 o’ clock to 7:30 o’clock A six o' clock dinner was served. The birthday cake with its decora tions was the center of attract ion. Games and TV programs provided entertainment for the guests. Mrs Lester Hansen, her son and daughter of Harlan.
