World day of prayer was ob served in the Methodist church at Chambers Friday. Those attend ing from Amelia were Mrs. Vem Sageser, Mrs. Blake Ott, Mrs. Lew Backhaus. Mrs. S. C. Bar nett, Mrs. Link Sageser, Mr and Mns. Eamie Johnston, Mrs. Wag ner, Mrs. Bernard Blackmore and Mrs. Clyde Widman. Mr. and Mrs. John Ceams of Scottsbluff visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Fryrear, over the weekend. Miss Caroline Backhaus and her mother, Mrs. Eva Backhaus, came to Amelia Saturday. Mrs. Backhaus finished her work at the Lyle Addison home and will be at home this week. They were dinner euests of Mrs. Delia F.mst. Caroline returned to Niobrara Sunday evening. Rev. and Mrs. Harold Bonath and son, Monty, Mr. and Mrs. Vem Sageser, Mr. and Mrs. Link Sageser and Mrs. Edith Ander sen were Sunday dinner guests at the Eamie Johnston home. Mrs. Maude Forbes has l)een visiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hienie Frahm, anti family the past three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pierce and Mrs. Delia Ernst attended the Tesch sale north of Atkinson Saturday. Don Adams of Gordon spent the weekend with his parents, Mr and Mrs. Floyd Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Coolidge visited their son, Charley Cool idge, and family near Chambers Sunday. Don Peterson, who attends school at Kearney, was home for the weekend. Mrs. Emma Lindsey and Flor ence were Sunday dinner guests at hte home of Mr. and Mrs. Ar thur Hiatt.. Mr .and Mrs. Jerry Tesch and daughters, Sandra and Linda, of Lincoln attended the farm sale of Mr. Tesch's parents, the Fred Teschs on Saturday. They came to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Doolittle Saturday evening for a visit, returning home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Thomp son and Barbara called on Mrs. Thompson’s mother, Mrs. Harold Gilman. Friday at the O’Neill hospital. The Free Methodist church sponsored a family night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bur get t and Wayne Friday evening. Supper was served to about 40 persons. Reverend Turner show ed a film on communism. Kenneth Ktnnamon of Moore, Okla.. and H. S. White of Mc Pherson, Kans , came Thursday night and visited until Monday at the Glenn White home. It was the Adairs fourth wedding anniversary and Mrs. Doolittle served supper. The Amelia Progressive club met W'ednesday, February 19, at the home of Mrs. Paul Fisher. There were 10 members and two visitors present. Visit Home in Kansas— Rev. and Mrs. W. B. Lamb re turned Monday evening from an 18 days trip to their old home. They accompanied Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Baker as far as Mankato, Kans. The Bakers went on to Flori- j da and the Lambs continued on to their old home five and one half miles north of Eslton, Kans. They stayed with their sister-in law, Rev. Mrs. J D. Lamb, who also is a preacher. Rev. Lamb helped with the services at his old home church and also helped with the Quaker services at another church. Rev. Lamb's father was a Quaker. They visited old friends. He said that it was very cold but just as they were about to leave, it turned warmer.
