Cookies were baked, packed
and distributed to the shut-ins of
the community.

the group.

Ham Dinner Served
at Auxiliary Meet

9, at 7 o'clock for their annual
Christmas supper. The auxiliary
furnished the ham for the cover
ed dish meal

corated in keeping with the sea
son.
Miss Lettie Jean Coulthard of
Oakdale, district president, was
present. She presented a short
talk.
A short business meeting follow
ed group singing of Christmas
carols. The decision was made to
accept the obligation of sponsor
ing the Heart Drive next year.
The closing feature of the eve
ning's program was an exchange
of gifts.
Members of the kitchen com
mittee were Mesdames Otto Mat
schullat, Harold Asher and Ben
Asher.

committee were Mesdames Cal
vin Harvey, Leslie Summers, Ed

Lynch high school presented the
play Tuesday and Wednesday
evenings, December 10-11. A good
size crowd attended both perfor
mances. The entire class took
part in the play.

Mrs. Hugh John Birmingham announces the engagement of
her daughter, Miss Margaret DeMaris (above), and William Hugh
Riley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Bernard Riley of Fairbury. Miss
Birmingham is a graduate of St. Mary’s academy, O'Neill, and Du
chesne college, Omaha. Mr. Riley attended St. Benedict s college,
Atchinson, Kans., and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska
where he was affiliated with Beta Theta Pi fraternity. A June wed
