Generally steady to strong prices prevailed with some real light weights showing ad vances of 50 cents a hundred. Choice light calves sold from $29 00 to $33.00 cwt., heifer mates at $26.00 to $28.00. Heavier calves from $26.50 to $28.75 on the yearling order, at $24.00 to $26.25. Heifer cal ves $24.00 to $25.50. Steers wts. 600 to 700 lbs. at $24.50 to 525.75. 725 to 850 at $23 00 to $21.W). Plainer steers at $19.00 to $22 00. Feeder heifers at 520.50 to $23.00 and breeding cows from $160.00 to $210.00 per head. Butcher cows and bologna bulls 50 cents higher. Mrs. Mary Layman, Holt Native, Dies After an illness of a few weeks, Mrs. Mary Layman, 56, died in a Springfield, Mass., hospital. Near her at the time of death were her husband and three chil dren. The late Mrs. Layman, whose maiden name was Mary Carr, was bom at Stafford, Holt coun ty, August 9, 1901, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Carr. She at tended St. Mary's academy at O'Neill and in 1919, after gradu ation, attended St. Mary's college at Notre Dame, Ind., coeduca tional unit of Notre Dame univer sity. Sly married LeRoy Layman of Chicago, 111., July 7, 1925. In Septemlier, 1933, the Laymans moved to the Boston area where Mr Layman was transferred by Swift and Co.
