Church of Nazarene Plans Friday Rite EWING- The Church at the Nazarene is planning a service for Friday evening at 7:30 when members will have as their guest Reverend Witeomb of Harding, district superintendent erf the Hastings area. Other expected guests are Rev erend Baty of Page and Reverend Winkleman of Niobrara, both ministers of the Wesleyan Meth odist church. Barbara Nonne and Dorothy Lane of Yankton, S. As there were some new faces members stood and introduced themselves Financial report showed a bal ance of $341.27. Lunch donations brought in $6.75 at the November meeting. fiolrienrnd extension club dona ted $25 toward the new incubator Mother Francis and Sister Per petus showed the new incubator and it's advantages. Members voted 24-2 in favor of giving an other $100 to apply on it’s costs. Mrs. John Hickey explained how to make slippers from wash clothes. Some of the ladies took home washclothes to make into slippers for children to use at the hospital. A suggestion was made that the auxiliary consider putting library carts in the hospital for the patients’ use. It was decided to discuss this at the next meeting. Goldenrod extension club pre sented favors for the hospital trays. Lunch was served by Mrs. Ira H. Moss and Mrs. W. H. Harty and Mrs. Clarence Sauser. WSCS to Meet with Mrs. Edith Andersen AMELIA—Women’s Society of Christian Service will meet at the home of Mrs. Edith Andersen, Wednesday, December 18, at 1:30 p.m. Mrs, .Blake Ott will be the hostess. Mrs. Vcm Sageser will have charge • of the devotional period and the lesson will be the last three chapters on the ‘‘Study of Japan” and led by Mrs. Har old Bonath. Mrs. S. C. Barnett and Mrs. Delbert Edwards are on the luncheon committee. Thanksgiving Guests— Mr. and Mrs. Howard Holiday and family of Grand Island were Thanksgiving week guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. N. Loy, and his parents, the Hugh Holi days of Page. Mr. and Mrs. Don Loy and family of Kearney were also guests. All Members Present for Club Meeting AMELIA Amelia Progressive Project club met Wednesday. De cember 4, at the home of Mrs Vem Sageser, All members were present and answered roll cal by giving some hint concern ing "cookie making". Mrs. S. C. Barnett was a guest. After the business session Mrs. Ralph Rees presented an inter esting and informative lesson cm "cookies". She made and baked date filled cookies which we all sampled. Mrs Sageser served salad and coffee with the cookies, after which mystery’ sisters were revealed and Christinas gifts were revealed and Christmas gifts were exchanged. Next lesson will be on the care of electrical appliances” and will be given by Mrs Rees and Flor ence Lindsey at the home of Mrs. Paul Fisher. C. Barnett. A new heating system was in stalled in the Catholic church last week. Methodist church purchased a new rug for the rostrum. It was laid Tuesday evening. Don Adams returned to Gor don Sunday after spending the weekend at home. While home he went to Spencer to visit the oc ulist and get his new glasses. Clyde Widman and Leo Clinch went to Lincoln Tuesday to file a petition for the Nebraska School Improvement association with the Secretary of State to place the Commissioner of education on an elective basis. Kubitschek spent the Thanksgiving holidays in Kansas City, Mo., visiting her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bo gan. Betrothal Told Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Hoke of Ewing announce the engage ment of their daughter, Miss Janell (above), of San Francis co, Calif., to Pvt. Robert Dean Hobbs, son of Mr and Mrs L. A. Hobbs of Ewing. Miss Hoke was graduated from the Ewing school with the class of 1957. She has been liv ing with an aunt in California and is expected to arrive home next week. Mr. Hobbs entered the army last March and received his basic training at Ft. Chnffe, Ark. He has recently completed the supply specialist’s course at Ft. Gordon, Ga.
