Warm water Fiah
Are Scattered
Nebraska's dk-hard anglers
got a shot in the arm in recent
days as the game commission
stocked almost 150 000 warm
water fish in scattered waters of
the state.
Glen R. Foster of Lincoln, fish

cluded white bass, largemouth
bass ratfish, walleye, crappie,
perch, bluegill, and bullheads.

Expires in Canada

Many Years
ATKINSON Mrs Jessie E.
Price. 85, an Atkinson resident
for many years, died Wednesday.
November 13, in the hospital at
Weybum, Sask . Can., where she
had been hospitalized for four
months
Mrs. Price had been making
her home the past five years with
her son. R. S. Price, at Waldron,
Sask.
She was horn January 31. 1872.
at Auburn, la., a daughter of Mr
and Mrs. Luther Shepard
On April TO. 1890 at Madison,
S. D.. she married Edward Price.
The family moved to Canada in
1913 and Mr, Price worked for
the Canadian National railroad
until 1955. when he retired.
They moved to Atkinson to be
near a son. Leon B. In 1944 the
Prices celebrated their 56th wed
ding anniversary.
Mr Price died June 18, 1944
Five years ago she went to Wal
dron.
The remains reached Atkinson
Monday morning and funeral ser
vices were conducted at 2 p. m.,
at the Seger funeral chajiel Rev.
Charles Gates, Methodist minis
ter, officiated. Burial was in
Wood lawn cemetery.
Pallbearers were M. W. Ellen
w'ood, Albert Lemmer, C. E
Spence, Glen McClurg, Walter
Puckett and Truman Rossman.
Survivors include: Sons R. S.
of Waldron, L B. of O’Neill and
Eldon T. of Elmhurst, 111.; 11
grandchildren; 21 great-grand
children.

The Niobrara Valley Electric
Membership corporation Friday
was host for planning institute of
40 directors and managers of sur
ronding HE A electric systems.
The meeting was held at the
American logion auditorium.
R. F. Richter, head of REA
operations, Washington, DC., was
the main speaker Ix»ng range plan
ning was the subject presented.
Items discussed were physical fac
ilities needed to supply sufficient
and adequate electric power at the
lowest cost to its members. Elec
tric power loads are expected to
double within the next seven
years, Richter said.
"The institute was very inform
ative", according to Ed Wilson
manager of the host REA, and
gave the power officials a pre
view of some of the problems
they my encounter in the future.

were Sunday dinner guests of Mr.
and Mrs Carroll Holz of Neligh.

Formed in Area
Real estate brokers in a six
county area met in Bassett Thurs
day evening, November 14 to or
ganize the North-Central Nebras
ka Board of Realtors. Counties re
presented in the membership dis
trict Rock, Holt, Cherry, Keya
Paha, Brown and Boyd.
Officers elected to serve the
board for 1958 are Virgil L. Laur
sen of O’Neill, president; Char
les Raitt of Ainsworth, vice-presi
dent; Ronald M. Shonka of Atkin
son. secretary-treasurer; Ray
mond A. Ballard of Valentine,
Harry G. Titus of Bassett, Louis
Klasna of Spencer and Joseph M.
Kokes of Atkinson, directors.
The purpose of the organization
is to unite those engaged in the
real estate business to exert a
beneficial influence upon matters
affecting the real estate business
itself and other related interests,
home, farm and ranch, and other
property ownerships in the area
Prior to this meeting, the fol
lowing comprised a committee to
study by-laws: Roy Raitt of Ains
worth, Harry C. Titus of Bassett,
Virgil l^aursen of O’Neill, E. C.
Weller of Atkinson and Ronald
Shonka of Atkinson.
The newiy-organized board will
be affiliated with the Nebraska
Real Estate association, which
was represented at the meeting
by Vice-President Jerry A. Brown
of Norfolk and Executive Vice
President Harry J. Bull of Lin
coln. The board also will be a
memlter of the National Associa
tion of Real Estate Boards of
Chicago, 111., which was represen
ted at the meeting by Field Exe
cutive Harold Clingerman of Lin
coln.

spent the weekend with here with

dish dinner at the church annex
Sunday evening followed by a
song fete honoring the late Char
les Wesley who wrote so many
hymns.
Mrs. Myrtle Young of Gordon
came Friday and is spending sev
eral days visiting in the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Young.
Mrs. Paul Hartigan and two
children of Page are spending a
few days in the home of Paul’s
mother, Mrs. Marye Hartigan.
Mr. and Mrs. Ot1o Retke, who
have spent the past several
months near Norfolk where they
have been employed on the Roy
Ries farm, arrived here Tuesday.
They expect to leave Monday for
California, where they will spend
some time in the home of their
daughter, Elaine Jones and fam
ily and their son, Bob.

his six months of training with
the national guards and return
home shortly before Thanksgiv

and is driving from home each
