Mr. and Mrs. John Conard spent the weekend visiting their daughter, Mr. and Mrs, Bernard Troshynski and Tommy, at Lin coln. They, with Roland Wills of Lincoln as their guest, attended the Nebraska-Kansas football game. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Schmitz and son visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Schmitz and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Rabl last week. Mrs. Schmitz became ill with the flu so she remained with her par ents when her husband returned to work in Omaha. Mrs. Chuck Fox and Cindy visited Mrs. Wayne * Fox last Tuesday afternoon. Warren Burgess and Dave Hay den of Omaha were guests of Bud Cole. On Friday they went deer hunting in the Valentine vicinity. Hogs came as far away as Osmond, Page, Lynch, Spencer, Orchard, O’Neill, as well as several other surrounding communities. For service that satisfies— try your next consignment at our market. We want you as a satisfied customer. Hog sale starts each Monday, 11 A. M. The hogs on Monday’s market ran into plenty of buyer re sistance due to lower prices and as a result $16.25 was extreme top. It took fancy hogs to bring over $16.00 with the bulk sell ing from $15.75 to $15 95. The best action in the hog depart ment was pn weanling pigs that sold at $15.00 each. ‘‘CATTLE SALE IN VERDIGRE A GOOD ONE” Plenty of action on all classes. Buyers liked the good quality cattle and the sellers were satisfied with prices received. We are very pleased at the growing number of consignors to our cattle sale each week. For next week’s sale, we have a consignment of 50 dairy heifer calves and 15 Dairy cows direct from Wisconsin. If you need dairy cattle or have some to sell, be on hand next Monday.
